Another entity interested in purchasing Sheffield Wednesday has been identified.
Since former owner Dejphon Chansiri threw the club into administration in late October, speculation has circulated over who may succeed the Thai tycoon at Hillsborough.
Despite being handed with an automatic 12-point punishment, which all but guarantees their relegation to League One, the Steel City side has received plenty of interest, with administrator Kris Wigfield stating that 80 parties first came forward.
That list has been cut down to severely to only the most strongly interested groups, which included the likes of former Newcastle United owner Mike Ashley and US billionaire John McEvoy.
The deadline for announcing who has won out as Wednesday’s new owners is December 5, but it is still unclear who that will be.
Ryan Howsam in the running for Sheffield Wednesday takeover

While some individuals, such as Ashley and McEvoy, have been identified, the vast majority of interested parties have remained nameless throughout the process.
However, one more name has surfaced. According to Thisismoney, Ryan Howsam is one of the bidders for the Owls.
The Times earlier reported that Howsam may consider joining the race to take over Wednesday, which is now verified by this fresh article.
He is the CEO of insurance business Staysure and lives in Dubai after leaving the UK more than 20 years ago. The Sun disclosed in 2024 that his company was worth around £1 billion, indicating that finances would not be an issue throughout the acquisition process.
Howsam was born and raised in Sheffield, therefore he has an obvious and direct link to the Owls.
Another wealthy interested party is fantastic news for Sheffield Wednesday.

Sheffield Wednesday fans will all have different ideas about who they want to be their next owner, with some parties clearly favoured over others.
It was recently disclosed that Sheffield United’s owners were considering a takeover, which would have been strongly opposed by both groups of fans.
One thing is certain: Wednesday will want an owner with huge pockets, and the more wealthy parties that come forward, the greater the Owls’ chances in this scenario.
It remains to be seen who will emerge victorious in the contest to become the next Wednesday owner, but anyone with Howsam’s financial resources will undoubtedly have the ability to make sweeping changes at Hillsborough and steer the club toward a brighter future.
