Frank Lampard issues transfer warning to Coventry City stars

The top players at Coventry City have received a warning from Frank Lampard on any plans to leave the team in January.

After a successful start to the season, the Sky Blues are presently in a great position to contend for automatic promotion to the Premier League.

With their goals propelling the side to the top of the Championship table, players like Brandon Thomas-Asante and Haji Wright have received a great deal of appreciation for their performances.

As the January transfer window draws near, this has inevitably sparked conjecture about both players’ futures, and their exit would be a major setback for the team.

With a promotion possibility on the horizon, it is unclear if either forward would be persuaded to make a switch halfway through the season.

Frank Lampard’s problems Coventry squad’s January exit warning

Lampard has stated that he does not want to be contacted about a potential transfer and has no interest in learning about January’s interest in his first team players.

The Coventry manager has clarified that he has no say in any transfer dealings, but he has questioned why any player would want to leave the team given that they are poised to accomplish something exceptional this season.

“I’m not interested. And when I say that, I mean that every player is committed to trying to reach our goals this season,” Lampard stated, as reported by Coventry Live.

We’re all in this, so if someone wants to knock on my door in January, they had better have the appropriate question or tone for me.

“I am aware that the club and those who make decisions deal with a lot of things.

“I don’t make all of the decisions.

Do you want to be involved in football, though, if you separate it from the current situation? I get that vibe from everyone in the group.

“And I believe that in terms of retaining our best players, you have to do so if you want to be a team that consistently improves, performs well, and is in the upper echelons of the league.”

Earlier this month, Lee Hendrie exclusively told FLW that he thinks Thomas-Asante’s impressive performances could attract Premier League attention this January.

This season, the forward has made 16 appearances in the Championship and scored 10 goals.

Wright has added eight goals and one assist in the meantime, and Coventry is comfortably leading the Championship standings, ten points ahead of Stoke City in third place.

Lampard’s team will next travel to play second-place Middlesbrough on Tuesday night, with a 7.45 p.m. kickoff.

By keeping this team together, Coventry has done the right thing.
Due to a very late goal by Dan Ballard in the semi-final matchup with Sunderland, Coventry missed out on promotion last season and finished within the play-offs.

Therefore, by keeping the team together and avoiding making too many changes, they have performed effectively in the months since.

After several near-misses, they have a very good chance of getting promoted to the Premier League if they can maintain that until January.

Lampard’s remarks, which come right before a pivotal match in the season, serve as a caution to the team to keep the dressing room calm.
