‘Absolute Liability’ Holding Ruben Amorim Back at Man Utd Needs Dropped After Forest Draw

During Manchester United’s game against Nottingham Forest, one key player failed to impress fans.

The Red Devils were held to a 2-2 draw at the City Ground, ending their positive run of recent Premier League results. Ruben Amorim’s team had a three-game winning streak going into the encounter against Sean Dyche’s side, but that came to an abrupt end against the Tricky Trees.

Casemiro opened the scoring for Manchester United in the first half with a contentious effort that resulted in Amorim’s team being awarded a corner kick despite replays indicating that a goal kick should have been given.

Morgan Gibbs-White and Nicolo Savona then put Forest ahead early in the second half, with Dyche’s side appearing to have taken all three points before Amad Diallo’s late equaliser.

Diogo Dalot: ‘An Absolute Liability’

Diogo Dalot was one Manchester United player who received significant criticism following the game. The full-back played 70 minutes before being replaced by Patrick Dorgu, with one fan online claiming he was ‘an absolute liability’.

This happened after his error set up Gibbs-White’s goal for Forest early in the second half. One fan stated:

“Dalot has repeatedly cost us money. “Why does Amorim keep playing him?”

An additional fan commented: “Many times during the game, Diogo Dalot forgets he’s on a football pitch and that sequence is the most U12 thing you’ll see in professional football.”

A third stated, “Since no one likes to say it, Diogo Dalot is an impediment to our system, and to make matters worse, we don’t have a better choice to replace him,” while another added, “Embarrassing. Dalot remained entirely indifferent and oblivious.”

Man United did tie the game after Dalot’s replacement, with Diallo making it 2-2 after 81 minutes. That goal extended the Red Devils’ unbeaten streak to four games — three victories and one draw — as Amorim’s team seeks to maintain the momentum that has propelled them into top-four contention.

Manchester United will meet Tottenham next Saturday, November 8. It remains to be seen whether Dalot will start the game after his exhausting afternoon at the City Ground.
