Following Mohamed Salah’s dismal fourth-place result in the 2025 Ballon d’Or rankings, Liverpool went to social media.
Numerous well-known athletes and management flocked to Paris, France’s Theatre du Chatelet on Monday night to see the 2025 Ballon d’Or awards ceremony.
The men’s trophy was given out after Barcelona star Aitana Bonmati won the women’s prize for the third consecutive year.
The 2025 Ballon d’Or winner was revealed to be Paris Saint-Germain star Ousmane Dembele, who defeated Barcelona player Lamine Yamal and colleague Vitinha to win the prize.
Salah, the star of Liverpool, ended in fourth position after having an incredible 24/25 season with the Reds and contributing 57 goals.
Despite being a favourite, Salah did not show up for the event. Manager Arne Slot, goalkeeper Alisson Becker, and captain Virgil van Dijk were all members of Liverpool’s travelling team.

Liverpool posted a sequence of images of the 33-year-old on social media along with the caption, “A season to savour from Salah,” following the confirmation of Salah’s rating.
