Liverpool vs Arsenal: Mac Allister Sends Message to Piero Hincapie After Clash

Liverpool midfielder Alexis MacAllister texted new Arsenal signing Piero Hincapie after the two battled during Argentina’s 1-0 loss to Ecuador in a World Cup qualifier on Wednesday. The game was a contentious one between the two teams, with Nicolas Otamendi and Chelsea ball-winner Moises Caicedo both sent off before halftime.

Former West Ham striker Enner Valencia’s penalty 13 minutes into first-half stoppage time was enough for the underdogs to win, propelling Ecuador to second place in World Cup qualifying. However, it was Mac Allister who garnered the most attention with a social media post following the final whistle, to which Hincapie, among others, responded personally.

In a video shared on Mac Allister’s official Instagram, the former Brighton midfielder confronts Hincapie as the defender complains to the referee about a decision. The World Cup winner charged up to his opponent, shoving him away and swearing at him.

Willian Pacho, a Paris Saint-Germain defender, was seen halfheartedly getting in between the two as Mac Allister proceeded to charge at Hincapie while berating him.

Mac Allister captioned the slow-motion video “VOS NO SOS ASI,” and tagged Hincapie. The phrase translates as “YOU ARE NOT LIKE THAT.”

Curtis Jones, Mac Allister’s Liverpool colleague, and Tyler Morton, a former Reds midfielder, were among those who commented on the post. Jones replied with a laughing emoji, while Morton, now at Lyon, wrote: “Go on Macca.”

Furthermore, Hincapie answered in jest, saying, “Como te gusta papi,” which translates to “How do you like it, daddy?”

The official Latin Premier League account also chimed in to make things better, writing: “I love you both,” with the post clearly intended to be light-hearted.
