Video has gone viral of Liverpool goalie Alisson comforting a supporter outside Anfield while they paid their respects to Diogo Jota and his brother Andre Silva. The brothers perished in a car accident in Spain while Jota was trying to board a ferry to return to Merseyside for preseason training. The football community is still in sorrow over their untimely deaths.
Jota’s wife, Rute, and the team’s players and staff gathered outside Anfield on Friday to lay flowers and see the hundreds of thousands of jerseys, scarves, and notes that supporters had left outside the stadium. However, one instance where Alisson intervened to comfort someone who had been brought to tears was captured on camera by a supporter and posted online.

The social media video showed the former Roma goalie strolling with his spouse in a sea of tribute presents, while one admirer could be heard sobbing loudly after apparently losing it. Even though it seemed like he was going to turn to leave, Alisson halted to go up to the woman, comfort her, and check on her.
Online responses to the 32-year-old have been overwhelmingly positive, as expected. Many have praised the Brazilian for taking the time to make sure that others were taken care of during his own difficulties in accepting the situation.
A few days after Jota’s death, Alisson was unable to attend his funeral; nonetheless, he and teammate Luis Diaz later went to the striker’s seventh-day service.
“Normally, I post things that make sense, but today, nothing makes sense!” Alisson wrote in a poignant Instagram tribute following the striker’s passing. ‘Saying farewell’ to someone I love is once again a matter of oceans! However, I am aware that my clubmates are doing a good job of representing me!
“To you, my friend @rutecfcardoso14, just know that you will never walk alone, we will be with you as soon as possible!”
