With a team that hasn’t won a league title in nearly 25 years, former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp may be making a surprise comeback to management. The German is now Red Bull’s Global Head of Football, but in April, it was reported that he was dissatisfied with his new position and wanted to leave early to return to the sidelines.
Before Xabi Alonso was announced as Carlo Ancelotti’s successor at Real Madrid, he was briefly mentioned as the Italian’s replacement. However, new reports indicate that the Premier League and Champions League winner has already decided on his future course of action, so supporters may not have to wait long to see him on our televisions.

The Italian giants are currently being lead by Claudio Ranieri

Several Italian outlets are reporting that Klopp will take over as AS Roma’s manager at the end of the current campaign, according to a story from Optus Sport. La Stampa claims that an agreement has already been reached between the coach and the team’s owners, the Friedkin Group, who also own Everton.
Once home to legends like Francesco Totti and Daniele De Rossi, the Serie A team had a dismal start to the season and fired manager Ivan Juric in November after just 12 games in charge. Claudio Ranieri, who came out of retirement to lead the team for his third term, took his spot.
During his interim stint in the Italian capital, the man who led Leicester City to an incredible Premier League title win has performed similar miracles. The team has lost just seven times in 35 games, including a 21-game league unbeaten streak, and they are now just one point outside of a Champions League spot going into the final match. Thus, during his final match at the Stadio Olimpico, when Roma defeated AC Milan 3-1, Ranieri received an amazing ovation.
Because of his legendary stature from his various stints at his local club, it has also been alleged that Ranieri may remain on board in another capacity and take up an advising role at the club should Klopp accept the Roma post.
The decision to recruit Klopp was really made a while ago, according to La Stampa, but the former Borussia Dortmund manager finally approved the move on Sunday. His appointment would put him in the same position as Jose Mourinho and Luis Enrique, who both failed to win Roma the coveted Scudetto.
