Xabi Alonso ‘set to make’ fourth signing for Real Madrid before the start of the Club World Cup as insane overhaul continues

Less than a month before the Club World Cup begins, Xabi Alonso is getting ready to sign his fourth player at Real Madrid.

Carlo Ancelotti, the manager of Real Madrid, said last week that he would be leaving the team once the current La Liga season ended in order to become the new head coach of Brazil.

After recently announcing his retirement from Bundesliga team Bayer Leverkusen, former club legend Alonso is widely expected to take over as manager of Real Madrid, however this has not been confirmed.

According to a recent source, the Spaniard is reportedly aiming for his fourth big acquisition before the 2019 Club World Cup, suggesting that he is not wasting any time in getting to the Bernabeu.

Real Madrid wants to fully revamp their defence with new players who can make their competitive debuts since the Club World Cup is about to begin in the United States in a few weeks.

Star defender Dean Huijsen will join the Spanish powerhouses this summer, according to Bournemouth’s recent confirmation. Trent Alexander-Arnold, a right-back for Liverpool, will follow.

Real Madrid can now concentrate on midfield, where they want to re-sign outstanding player Nico Paz as their fourth summer acquisition, since a deal for Benfica left-back Alvaro Carreras is reportedly nearing completion.

After letting the 20-year-old join Italian club Como last summer, Real Madrid has reportedly been thrilled with Paz’s recent performances and is eager to sign him again before the Club World Cup, according to Spanish publication Football Espana.

A deal to bring Paz back to the Bernabeu should be relatively simple because the €6 million deal that saw the Argentine international join the Serie A club also included a €9 million buyback option.

The young player has made 34 appearances in Serie A this season, scoring six goals and providing nine assists, solidifying his position as a vital member of Como’s midfield.

Although a number of other teams, including Inter Milan, have apparently expressed interest in him due to his performance, it now seems likely that he will be the most recent addition to Alonso’s Real Madrid makeover.
