One of the most prestigious clubs in Europe is reportedly interested in acquiring the services of Bruno Fernandes, the captain of Manchester United, during the summer transfer window.
Fernandes, who is now 30 years old, moved to Manchester United from Sporting CP in the year 2020 and has been an invaluable asset to the Red Devils ever since.
In spite of the fact that Ruben Amorim’s team is currently ranked thirteenth in the Premier League, Fernandes has frequently set an example by scoring extremely important goals this season.
On the other hand, the Daily Star reports that another club may be able to acquire the attacking midfielder during the summer. This would be a move that could prove to be disastrous for Amorim, who is 40 years old, and his team, considering that the 30-year-old has scored 16 goals and provided 16 assists in 44 matches so far this season.
According to the report, Real Madrid is preparing a bid of £90 million, which would be United’s record sale. This would be an increase from the £80 million fee that Real Madrid received for Cristiano Ronaldo in 2009.
Given that Fernandes is now on the verge of turning 30, and that he is getting close to the end of his contract, it is arguable that the Red Devils would be wise to sell the Portuguese player at such a high price.
In the event that he were to join Carlo Ancelotti’s squad, he would be competing with players such as Fede Valverde, Luka Modric, and Jude Bellingham for a position in the middle of the pitch for Los Blancos!
It is not known whether Fernandes would be interested in making a move to the 15-time Champions League champions; however, he recently expressed his desire to surpass the likes of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Andy Cole on the list of United’s most prolific goal scorers.
In reference to Sandy Turnbull, who scored 101 goals for United, Fernandes, who has scored 95 goals for the club, stated that it is a long way up.
First, Andy Cole, with 121, and then Ole, with 126. I have high hopes of surpassing them, and it will be a positive sign for our club if I am able to score a significant number of goals. I have high hopes that I will continue to succeed. In order to assist the club, I want to score as many goals as I can, and I also want to assist my teammates in scoring more and more goals.
When it comes to scoring goals and being involved, it is obvious that everyone always wants to do both. It goes without saying that each time you score, you contribute to the team’s success in winning games, and it is obviously very, very special. Consequently, it is significant, but it is not the most important aspect of football. I’m not looking at the lists, and my only thought is about passing whoever might be in front of me.
