Football is a game that never sleeps. Somewhere in the world, someone is engaged in some aspect of the beautiful game during each of the 86400 seconds that make up a 24-hour day. This might be anything from booting a ball against a wall with friends to sharing their expert analysis on social media or winning a high-profile match at the last minute.
Since no human can possibly keep up with everything that happens during a game, football is often made great by the small but fascinating moments, such as a fan’s alternate perspective on a penalty save, a three-second but incredibly telling exchange between two bitter rivals, or a thread on X that explains why N’Golo Kante is the nicest man in professional sports.

The most recognisable football player in the world right now is Cristiano Ronaldo. With millions of devoted admirers following his career, the Portuguese legend is well-known throughout the world. It takes courage to call oneself a Ronaldo “lookalike,” and one fan’s attempt at doing so didn’t go so well.
Prior to CR7 playing for Al-Nassr against Al-Shabab in Saudi Pro League action, video showed his response to the ‘lookalike’. Ronaldo was seen teasingly yelling at the supporter during his pregame warm-up: “You don’t look like me, you’re very ugly.” brutal.
The age-defying superstar then scored his 463rd goal since turning 30, demonstrating that no one is quite like him. Prior to that historic birthday, he had managed as many strikes.

Following Wednesday night’s Champions League matches, Jamie Carragher and YouTuber Speed faced off in a race inside the CBS Studio. The apparent favourite versus former Liverpool player Carragher, who celebrated his 47th birthday in the same month, was Speed, whose real name is Darren Watkins, who only turned 20 in January.
Carragher cheated by pushing Speed at the beginning of the race, but Speed bounced back and was able to cross the finish line first. “You cheated and you still lost!” Speed yelled at the former defender who was now a pundit. Carragher said, “I’m disappointed, I thought I had him,” to Micah Richards. “The race was too long!” View the amusing video in its entirety below:

Leon Bailey, Marco Asensio, and Brandon Mechele’s own goal helped Aston Villa defeat Club Brugge 3-1 in the first leg of their Champions League round of 16 match. However, Tyrone Mings will be given the credit for the outcome since he kept his team in the game with an incredible goal-line clearance. Hans Vanaken was destined to give Brugge the lead with the score poised at 1-1 in the second half, but the defender stopped him with a spectacular lunge and the smallest deflection that sent the ball inches past the post.
After that, Unai Emery’s team scored again, giving them a healthy two-goal lead going into the second leg when they play again at Villa Park the following week.

Before their 122nd anniversary, Turkish powerhouses Besiktas unveiled a new club emblem, but the modifications are so minor that many supporters are finding it difficult to tell the difference between the old and new designs. At first sight, how many can you identify?
Still having trouble? The red of the logo has been changed to precisely match the Turkish flag’s hue of red. Second, for greater contrast, the black outline is now the same thickness as the white one. Lastly, the letters “B,” “J,” and “K,” as well as the digits 1, 9, 0, and 3, have all been aligned to the same thickness. Why alter a formula that works?

3rd March: Vinicius Junior Reveals Whose Decision It Was to Snub Ballon d’Or
The Brazilian missed the event after finding out he wasn’t going to win the award

Vinicius Junior has stated that Real Madrid, not himself, made the choice for him to skip the Ballon d’Or event after learning he would not be the winner. Hours before the gala, it was announced that Rodri, a midfielder for Manchester City, had been chosen by journalists to receive the trophy instead of the Brazilian winger, who was the clear choice.
Vinicius and no Real Madrid representatives showed up to protest the judgement and the perceived treatment of the club by the French Football Federation, even though they had previously planned a celebration party based on his victory.
The winger said, “I didn’t feel betrayed [by not winning],” according to GOAL. “Some voters cast ballots based on their beliefs. I have opinions, and so do my teammates.
“Winning the Ballon d’Or has never been my dream. Naturally, you want to win when you’re in the running for it, but I’ll have other chances to win. I’m here to win many more Champions Leagues, and I’ve already won two.”
The 24-year-old responded as follows when asked who called to cancel the ceremony:
“The club’s [choice] is always final. I follow the club’s instructions. I complied with their request to remain in Madrid in a composed manner.

After declining to sign a young Manchester United fan’s shirt, Liverpool icon Robbie Fowler has come under fire from supporters. Several of the greatest players from the past came together in Bangkok over the weekend to play in the Reignwood Icons of Football golf tournament.
Large crowds of fans gathered to witness Fowler, Paul Scholes, and John Terry represent Team England against Team World, two squads led by two Ryder Cup titans.
When the players were meeting the fans, Fowler took the time to sign a lot of caps and proceeded to talk to a young man who was waiting impatiently. When he noticed that the boy was holding a Manchester United shirt, he swiftly ignored him and carried on introducing himself.
“He’s acting petty here, in my opinion.” As another fan wrote: “Pathetic, it’s a kid,” one fan commented. What’s wrong with him, please? βVery poor on his partβ¦ grow up!β a third person added.
Dango Ouattara’s Cold Penalty on March 2nd
In the FA Cup shootout, a Bournemouth star scored a bold spot kick.https://twitter.com/The_Forty_Four/status/1896113081836781581?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1896113081836781581%7Ctwgr%5Ea7e9d8a0526dbd58428f5e1ad205b357751fe961%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.givemesport.com%2Ftoday-in-football-things-you-may-have-missed%2F
Take a bow, Dango Ouattara. During his team’s FA Cup victory over Wolves on Saturday, the Bournemouth winger scored one of the coldest penalties we’ll see all season. The second-half substitute didn’t even run up before calmly slotting the ball past goalkeeper Sam Johnstone, who was beaten before he could react. The co-commentator was taken aback by Ouattara’s penalty, saying: “Wow. That is something I don’t remember ever seeing before.” Most players wouldn’t have the courage to try that in

After Lionel Messi was left off of Inter Miami’s roster for Sunday’s Major League Soccer matchup between the two teams, Houston Dynamo provided free tickets to supporters. Dynamo supporters will not be able to witness the eight-time Ballon d’Or winner in action after Inter Miami head coach Javier Mascherano gave the 37-year-old a break, allegedly because of fixture congestion.
Dynamo has responded by taking the unexpected move of giving fans free admission to a match later this season. The Houston Dynamo are thrilled to host Inter Miami CF at Shell Energy Stadium on Sunday night, according to their statement. Lionel Messi, the forward, was not listed in the newly released player status report for the game, although it has been rumoured that he did not travel to Houston. Regretfully, we are powerless to influence who plays for our opponent.
“We are excited to welcome everyone tomorrow for what promises to be an amazing football celebration for the city of Houston. Fans who attend tomorrow night’s game can receive a complimentary ticket to a future Dynamo game this season as a token of our gratitude. We’ll share more information early next week.
March 1: Chido Obi Attacks Arsenal Following FA Youth Cup Victory
His present employers won a thrilling game with five goals.

Fans are chatting on the internet about Manchester United forward Chido Obi’s crude jab at his old team, Arsenal. He re-posted Arsenal’s statement of their early exit on his Instagram profile after his current employers’ Under-18 team defeated the Gunners 3-2 in the FA Youth Cup quarterfinal on Friday night.
To celebrate his goal and the victory on away ground, Jaydan Kamason, who scored the Red Devils’ second goal in the thrilling five-goal match, also shared a picture on Instagram. Chido Obi, who recently earned his first team debut under Ruben Amorim, responded by posting a message that read, “THANK YOU SO MUCH,” along with many laughing emojis.

After his contract expired, the 17-year-old Dane, who is renowned for scoring a tonne of goals at the youth level, moved from north London to Manchester in the summer, and it appears that he has the final say.
One admirer responded to his remark by saying, “Bro’s got no chill.” However, after the Dutchman performed the identical manoeuvre in the past, another implied that he is a Robin van Persie regen. “He is in his Van Persie era.” “The amount of abuse he got from Arsenal fans I’m happy for him,” a third fan commented.
28 February: Garnacho will cover dinner following Amorim’s substitution reaction: “I informed him that everything matters at Manchester United.”

Ruben Amorim has now disclosed that Alejandro Garnacho, 20, has volunteered to buy his teammates supper as an expression of apology after his response to being substituted during Manchester United’s 3-2 victory over Ipswich Town received a lot of attention.
The 40-year-old tactician gave the following explanation of Garnacho’s behaviour prior to their FA Cup match: “He came to me, to my office.” I looked into it. After watching the game in the dressing room, Garnacho left for home.
