French media make feelings clear on Liverpool after smash and grab win over PSG as Alisson given rare rating

Following Liverpool’s victory over Paris Saint-Germain, the most recent issue of the French publication L’Equipe featured the headline “an English Heist.” This was in response to the fact that Liverpool had created the ultimate “smash and grab” victory.

It is possible that Paris Saint-Germain had 27 shots and 10 shots on target at the Parc des Princes, but despite their dominance on Wednesday night, they were unable to find a way to get past Alisson.

During the match against Luis Enrique’s team, the Brazilian custodian made a total of nine saves, which is tied for his most in a Champions League match and the most ever made by a Liverpool custodian in the competition.

“It was probably the performance of my life,” he said in an interview with TNT Sports. “The manager was telling us how hard it would be to play against PSG, how good they are with the ball and that we would have to be ready to suffer.”

In addition to running with the headline that was mentioned earlier, L’Equipe acknowledged Alisson’s efforts by awarding him a tremendously rare score of nine out of ten, while Mohamed Salah, a teammate, was given three out of ten for his quiet performance in Paris.

Regarding the responses from those in the French media, a report from Le Parisien referred to Liverpool’s performance as “very ugly” and compared it to their loss to Atletico Madrid in November. This was discussed in relation to the reaction from those in the French media.

They said, “It was almost all there,” and they were right. It was summer in March, and the victory was the result of a clear superiority over a formidable adversary who was ultimately very ugly. Not only was everything present, but it was almost everything. It is similar to a vision of happiness that comes into view but cannot be grasped.

“Everything remained in the state of almost, with the cruelty of conceding a goal on the counter three minutes from the end, in a scenario that recalls the defeat against Atlético de Madrid (1-2) on November 6 here.”

Foot Mercato, on the other hand, made a statement that was very revealing regarding the dominance of PSG.

“A clearly frustrating match for the Parisians who had played the perfect match, or almost,” they concluded their article. It would have been difficult to do better on paper, but Paris Saint-Germain was able to defeat one of the best teams in Europe. This loss at the conclusion of the match, however, leaves a sour taste in my mouth.

Following that, RMC Sport moved on to discuss the remarks that Jamie Carragher made on CBS Sports. “Luis Enrique’s men put Liverpool to the torture like no one else this season,” they announced at the beginning.

Even the very protectionist England of football acknowledged the undeniable superiority of Parisian football. This victory was referred to as “one of the greatest robberies in the history of football” by Jamie Carragher, a former famous player for the Reds.
