BREAKING NEWS: Liverpool’s first signing for the January transfer window has been announced, his the superstar player who was compared to Messi.

Liverpool may contemplate acquiring Khvicha Kvaratskhelia should the Georgian winger depart Napoli in January, as reported by esteemed journalist David Ornstein of The Athletic. Ornstein indicates that Liverpool holds Kvaratskhelia in high regard and is meticulously observing his circumstances at the Italian club.

Liverpool is not currently seeking the 23-year-old, but may consider an acquisition if he becomes accessible. Nevertheless, they would encounter strong competition from other elite clubs, including as PSG and Chelsea, which are also after the skilled forward.

Since his transfer to Napoli from Rubin Kazan in 2022, Kvaratskhelia has emerged as one of Europe’s most exhilarating attacking talents. He has recorded 30 goals and 29 assists in 107 appearances for the Serie A team. This season, he has recorded 5 goals and 3 assists in 19 matches, increasing his career total to 52 goals and 53 assists across all competitions (according to Transfermarkt).

Kvaratskhelia’s existing contract with Napoli extends until 2027; however, halted discussions for a new agreement have attracted interest from other prestigious European clubs.

A transfer to Liverpool may seem unexpected due to their abundance of talent on the left wing, with both Luis Díaz and Cody Gakpo performing exceptionally in comparable positions. Although all three players possess the versatility to function throughout the front line, their principal positions coincide.

Speculation regarding Díaz’s future may, however, present an opportunity for Kvaratskhelia. Reports suggest that Díaz has declined a contract extension from Liverpool, perceiving himself as undervalued. Moreover, clubs like Barcelona have expressed interest in the Colombian player. If Díaz departs in the summer, Liverpool’s acquisition of Kvaratskhelia would become more attainable.
