The RB Leipzig star is about to go to the Premier League.
RB Leipzig player Xavi Simons is reportedly on the verge of joining Chelsea or Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League.
This summer, Simons, 22, was continuously linked with a move away from Leipzig.
Earlier in the transfer window, it was believed that Premier League heavyweights Chelsea had signed terms with the Dutchman but had not to pay a price that would satisfy Leipzig.
Simons made 33 appearances for Leipzig in the 24/25 season, scoring 11 goals and assisting on eight more.
On Friday morning, it was reported that Chelsea’s London rivals, Tottenham Hotspur, had reached an agreement with the Bundesliga club for a cost of around €60 million.
Fabrizio Romano said, “EXCLUSIVE: Tottenham agree €60 million fee with RB Leipzig for Xavi Simons!” Official bid accepted, green light after #THFC sent formal bid based on player encouragement.
“The Spurs want the transaction completed today as well as on the player side, with medicals scheduled within the next few hours. “Here we go; expect soon.”

And now, Spurs appear to have completely hijacked Chelsea’s move, with a medical reportedly completed.
Xavi Simons ‘completes medical’ before Premier League move.
David Ornstein of The Athletic claimed on social media that Xavi Simons had finished his physical before joining Tottenham Hotspur from RB Leipzig. €60 million club-to-club deal finalized, with personal arrangements completed for 22-year-old attacker to join #THFC while final details are worked out between Dutch international and RB Leipzig.”
Spurs had been looking for an attacking midfielder after James Maddison sustained a significant knee injury during the club’s pre-season tour of Asia.
Earlier this month, Spurs were defeated in the race to recruit Crystal Palace striker Eberechi Eze, who chose to join North London rivals Arsenal.
However, Thomas Frank’s search for a new attacker appears to be drawing to an end, with Simons just inches away from being confirmed as a new Spurs player.
Spurs have enjoyed an excellent start to the 25/26 Premier League season, and Frank’s side will return to play this weekend when they face Bournemouth on Saturday afternoon.
