Wrexham have had a wonderful ride in recent years, rising from non-league football to a serious prospect of Premier League promotion.
The Red Dragons, led by Phil Parkinson and backed by owners Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds, are in a strong position to finish in the top six and qualify for the playoffs this season.
Wrexham most recently defeated Queens Park Rangers 3-2 at Loftus Road, resulting in only one defeat in their last eight matches across all competitions.
With 17 games remaining, they are now in the top six, with just the top three of Coventry City, Ipswich Town, and Middlesbrough having lost fewer games.
As they attempt to finish the season on a high note and ensure a successful run-in, the big-spending and ambitious Welsh team appear set to go big once more this month, with a handful of attackers lined up.
After being linked with a £19 million move for Angers attacker Sidiki Cherif, Alan Nixon has now revealed on his Patreon that they want Southampton’s Adam Armstrong in a £15 million deal.
Adam Armstrong could be more of a banker for Wrexham.

As has been the case during their progress through the divisions, Wrexham have brought in players who, regardless of their ceiling, have a floor that is at or well above the level at which they are playing.
They’ve carried it over into this season, and it’s not surprising that they’re targeting Adam Armstrong, who has frequently been almost too good for the championship. He is also a striker who FLW’s Wrexham Fan Pundit Liam Grice prefers above Sidiki Cherif.
Liam says: “I honestly believe that the issue with Armstrong is that the money is still fairly high, but he is a proven scorer in this domestic league, so you know more about what you are paying for as fans.
“He’s already scored in double figures this season with a struggling Southampton team, whereas Cherif has only four in his home league.
“In terms of knowing what you’re getting, I’d prefer to go with Armstrong, but Cherif clearly has the potential to be better than him.
“There is only a £4 million difference at the end of the day and, so, if we want to spend that bit extra for future proofing our team, then I’m all for that as well, but I think that Armstrong isn’t a bad back-up option, given how good he has been in recent seasons in this division and I think we can definitely go for worse targets than Armstrong.”
Adam Armstrong guarantees goals for the Championship.

The notion that a player ‘guarantees goals’ is frequently illogical and lazy, as it merely looks at a player’s statistics from a completely different context and assumes he can repeat them at a new club and in a different style.
However, Armstrong has previously scored over 20 goals in a Championship season for both Tony Mowbray’s high-octane Blackburn Rovers and Russell Martin’s very deliberate and possession-dominant Southampton, implying that he is more than capable of successfully adapting his game to any system.
Even this season, as the Saints replaced Will Still with Tonda Eckert after a disastrous season, Armstrong has continued to amaze, scoring 11 goals, second only to Swansea City striker Zan Vipotnik.
The one problem that Wrexham fans should be aware of and mindful of is that Armstrong’s most disastrous six-month spell throughout his career occurred when on loan at Bolton Wanderers under Phil Parkinson in the first half of the 2017/18 season.
Armstrong, who was frequently played out wide in a 4-2-3-1 formation for a very mediocre and defensive-minded Bolton side, struggled to adapt to Parkinson’s rather aggressive style, scoring only one goal in 20 Championship games.
