After Manchester United and Chelsea played to a 1-1 draw in the Premier League on Sunday, Paul Scholes gave one player the highest praise possible.
The Red Devils got the first breakthrough against the Blues in Sunday’s 1-1 draw at Old Trafford, as Manchester United played Chelsea.
United took a 1-0 lead in the 70th minute of the match after Bruno Fernandes stepped up and converted a second-half penalty kick.
But United’s lead was short-lived, as Chelsea rallied for a magnificent volley from Moises Caicedo just four minutes later.
After a dismal start to the season, Erik ten Hag was fired from Old Trafford last week, and United’s first Premier League game without him was a 1-1 draw over the weekend.
Last week, Ruud van Nistelrooy, United’s interim manager, guided the Red Devils to a 5-2 victory over Leicester City at Old Trafford in the Carabao Cup.
Before his temporary managing tenure ends later this week, the 48-year-old United great will lead the Red Devils for the next two games.
Scholes on excellent players: Man Utd legend
With just three victories from their first ten league games, Manchester United is now at thirteenth in the Premier League standings.
After the international break begins on November 11, Portuguese manager Ruben Amorim will depart Sporting CP to take Erik ten Hag’s place at Old Trafford.
Paul Scholes lauded Moises Caicedo for his incredible influence for Chelsea in the 1-1 draw in an interview with Premier League Productions.
After the Blues spent an initial £100 million on the former Brighton midfielder, Caicedo, who had previously been linked to a move to United, signed with Chelsea in 2023.
Scholes stated, “Moises Caicedo is the kind of player you need and want to play with.”
“Of the four [on the pitch], he was probably the best.”
