Achraf Hakimi, a defender for Paris Saint-Germain, is reportedly being tried for rape after he invited a woman into his house outside of the French city. Hakimi might receive a lengthy sentence after leading the Parisians to their first Champions League victory with 11 goals and 16 assists across all competitions, including the game-winning goal in the final against Milan. He is now enjoying his greatest season to date.
A final indictment has been legally approved by French prosecutors, who hope to have the 26-year-old charged in a criminal court. According to reports, the full-back faces the maximum penalty for the offence he is accused of committing, which is 15 years in prison, if convicted.
Hakimi might receive a 15-year prison term.
The incident occurred in 2023.
The incident in question occurred in February 2023, according to a report from the French publication Le Parisien, which was reported by the Sun. According to the authorities, a 24-year-old lady claimed to have corresponded with the Moroccan international on Instagram in January.
It is said that after a month of online communication, Hakimi booked her an Uber to home Boulogne-Billancourt while his wife, Spanish-Turkish actress Hiba Abouk, and their two kids were on vacation in Dubai.
It is said that Hakimi kissed her mouth and breasts through her clothing after coming without getting permission. An assault was allegedly committed after this. The claimed victim claims that she was able to use her foot to push him away and then left, texting a friend to come get her.
The woman went to a police station later that day to report the occurrence, making what was referred to as a “statement of rape,” but she first decided against making a formal complaint.
She allegedly sent communications to detectives in the weeks that followed the alleged assault, expressing her emotional discomfort.
An investigative judge formally charged Achraf Hakimi with rape on March 3, 2023. After a brief period of detention, he was released under court monitoring. From the beginning, Hakimi has refuted every accusation.
During a meeting in the investigating judge’s office on December 8, 2023, the woman faced Hakimi and reiterated her allegations. The football player denied any misconduct once more.
In an attempt to proceed with formal prosecution, a representative for the Nanterre prosecutor’s office now acknowledged that they had “requested that the investigating judge” submit the Hakimi case to a criminal trial.
Hakimi’s Remarks Regarding the Alleged Rape Offence
In a prior interview, the defender asserted that there was a plot against him.
In an interview back in January, Hakimi responded to the charges, saying that he was the target of a conspiracy.
In actuality, when you are prosperous and things are going well, you become a simple target for some individuals, which taught me that you shouldn’t put your trust in many people.
“We filed a case because they wanted to blackmail me, and it’s going great. The legal system did a really good job.
“It is now up to the investigating judge to make a decision about a possible trial within the framework of his order,” a prosecuting official stated following the latest update.
“My client welcomes this news with immense relief,” said a spokesperson for the accused victim. In this instance, nothing points to a racketeering attempt. As is regrettably still too frequently the case for women who have the guts to report the rape they have experienced, we will not put up with any smear or destabilisation effort.”
“These requisitions are incomprehensible and senseless in light of the evidence in the case,” said Fanny Colin, Hakimi’s attorney, in response to the prosecution’s most recent action.
“It proves the plaintiff’s falsehoods, especially based on the psychiatric tests she underwent. Achraf Hakimi and I are still as composed as we were at the start of the proceedings.
“If these requests were to be followed, we would obviously pursue all avenues of appeal.”
Hakimi is still out on bail as of this writing.
