Amid rumors that President Donald Trump stole Noni Madueke’s FIFA Club World Cup medal, the true reason for its disappearance has been made public. Madueke was allowed to return to the UK in advance of a possible transfer to Arsenal, so he missed the final even though he was a member of the Chelsea team that traveled to the United States for the summer competition.
Without him, the Blues performed admirably, defeating PSG in the New Jersey heat and receiving the trophy from Trump, who then refused to leave the platform for the subsequent festivities. Later, footage of the president stealing a winners’ medal for himself surfaced online, prompting others to speculate and make jokes that Madueke should have received it instead. But the actual site has finally been revealed.

Despite the rumor that Trump had stolen Madueke’s medal, the Daily Mail reported that this hasn’t happened and that the England international can anticipate receiving his medal in the mail. Given that Arsenal hasn’t won a trophy in the last five years despite their comeback up the Premier League table, many on social media have joked that he could actually show it to his new teammates there.
Madueke was permitted to return home for his medical at Arsenal, but it came out that he had not even watched the final; his priorities seemed to be elsewhere. At the same time that the final across the pond was happening, the 23-year-old was seen at the Wireless festival with former teammates Jadon Sancho and Carney Chukuwameka, enjoying a Drake concert.
It also meant that the Englishman was unable to join the Chelsea guys for what was reportedly a raucous celebration night as their very protracted 2024–25 season came to an end.
In recent months, Madueke’s fan base has declined as Chelsea supporters have grown disenchanted with the winger. Even worse, supporters of Arsenal launched a petition to persuade the team to back out of the agreement to sign the former PSV player, who is anticipated to wear the number 10 shirt once his contract is finalized.
