Players come and go in the modern football world, particularly in the Premier League. Although it’s a natural element of the beautiful game, some players spend a significant portion of their playing time with a single club.
Steven Gerrard, a legend in England and Liverpool, is the ideal example. The Scouser stuck to his roots and only left when he was no longer good enough, even though other teams were interested in him, most notably Manchester United and Chelsea.
Fans of Anfield were therefore convinced that they had a raging superstar on their hands and that he would spend the ensuing years honing his art on Merseyside until his cousin, Bobby Duncan, emerged as one to watch in 2018.

But that wasn’t the case. Under peculiar circumstances, Duncan, a center-forward by trade, left in 2019. However, what is Gerrard’s relative doing these days, and did he keep his word elsewhere following his well-documented departure?
Duncan’s ‘What If’ Story at Liverpool
He scored 23 goals in 26 outings for the club’s Under-18s
Being connected to Gerrard, who is considered by many to be among the greatest midfielders in Premier League history, was bound to put a great deal of strain on Duncan’s fragile and immature shoulders when he started to make an impression in the academy system.
He started his career at Mossley Hill and St Helens before being noticed by Wigan Athletic in 2010. However, he only stayed with the Latics for a year before moving to Manchester City. He is currently 23 years old. In 2018, he then made the well-publicized move to Liverpool.
Duncan signed a three-year professional contract in 2018 and played a key role in the team’s FA Youth Cup victory in 2018–19, as demonstrated by his late equaliser in their 5–3 victory over his old team, Manchester City.

Duncan, who was born in Whiston, cost his boyhood club £200,000, although at first it seemed like a wise move because he scored a lot of goals with Paul Glatzel during the 2018–19 season. He scored 23 goals in 26 games for Liverpool’s Under-18 team.
The Striker’s Tumultuous Anfield Exit
His agent accused the Merseyside club for ‘bullying’ and ‘destroying his life’
But after a month, things started to go south, and Duncan was advocating for a relocation out of Merseyside’s red half. Saif Rubie, the child’s agent, attacked Michael Edwards, the Reds’ sporting director, on social media.
Rubie, who is no longer connected to Duncan, said that Liverpool had “bullied” and “ruined his life” by preventing him from moving on to new opportunities. “This is not really dignified behaviour from a club with the rich history of Liverpool, and one of their greatest players ever, Steven Gerrard, is Bobby’s cousin,” he remarked.
The fact that a team like Liverpool can get away with mentally harassing and ruining the life of a young man like Bobby is a sad state of affairs.

“Liverpool Football Club is aware of and disappointed by the unattributed comments and unfounded allegations that have been made in the media regarding one of our players,” the club said in reaction to the charges.
We will not be commenting further because neither inflammatory remarks nor public debate nor erroneous speculation serve the interests of the player in question. However, we will keep trying to engage with the gamer in private to find a solution that benefits everyone.
