Arne Slot, the head coach of Liverpool, was shown a red card by Michael Oliver following the Merseyside derby on February 12, according to the details that have been disclosed by the Football Association (FA).
Referee Michael Oliver issued red cards to Slot, 46, and his assistant, Sipke Hulshoff, following Liverpool’s match against Everton at Goodison Park, which ended in a 2-2 draw over the course of the previous month.
An equaliser was scored by the Toffees’ defender James Tarkowksi in the final moments of the game before chaos broke out.
A fight broke out between Everton’s Abdoulaye Doucoure and Liverpool’s Curtis Jones shortly after the goal was scored. Both players were shown a second yellow card for their involvement in the altercation.
After the game, Slot, who is normally calm and collected, appeared to be irritated when he spoke to Oliver, who is forty years old, and his officials.
After further investigation, the Football Association (FA) brought charges against Everton, Liverpool, and Slot. Slot, the Dutch manager, was given a two-match touchline suspension for acting “in an improper manner and/or using insulting and/or abusive words and/or behaviour that was inappropriate.”
The individual, who is 46 years old, was also given a fine of seventy thousand pounds by an independent Regulatory Commission.
Because of this, he was forced to sit in the stands during his team’s 2-0 victory over Newcastle on February 26. He will also be forced to do the same thing when the Reds play Southampton at home on March 8. However, he will be in the dugout for Liverpool’s Champions League match against Paris Saint-Germain at the Parc des Princes on March 5.
A discussion has taken place since then regarding the words that Slot uttered to the referee in order to justify such a punishment.
The Football Association (FA) has just now made public a report that includes the alleged words that the Liverpool manager said to Oliver.
An explanation was provided in the report that stated, “It was alleged that AS’ manner was confrontational and aggressive.”
“It was alleged that he initially used abusive words while shaking the hand of the referee. These words included saying that the referee had “f*****g give them everything” and that AS hoped that the referee “was proud of that performance.”
After that, the referee confirms, after reviewing the video footage to have a better understanding of the situation, that he was approached by AS once more approximately one minute later. As part of this conversation, AS once more extended his hand to shake the hand of the referee and stated, “If we don’t win the league, I’ll f*****g blame you.”
Furthermore, it is alleged that AS turned to the Assistant Referee and yelled twice that it was “a f*****g disgrace.” This is the second allegation being made. A red card was shown to AS by the referee as a consequence of his behaviour during the match.
The report also included what Hulshoff, who is fifty years old, is said to have said while he was also given a two-match touchline suspension and a fine of seven thousand pounds.
“It is alleged that SH said the Referee was “f*****g s**t” and “gave them everything” and he was a “f*****g disgrace,” according to the investigation findings.
“We have been informed that the Referee makes an effort to remove himself from the situation in order to deal with the dismissals of CJ and AD. However, SH continues to follow him and is eventually restrained by colleagues, but he continues to yell “f*****g s**t.”
