Vini Jr fires back at Man City banner with the coldest three-word post after Real Madrid win

Vini Jr. has responded to the banner that Manchester City supporters displayed at the Etihad Stadium in advance of the first leg of their Champions League play-off match on February 11.

Before the match, which was won by Real Madrid by a score of 3-2, City supporters hung a banner of Rodri, the winner of the Ballon d’Or, from the stands. The banner featured a picture of the Spaniard kissing the trophy and the words “Stop Crying Your Heart Out” written on it. It appeared to be a dig at Vini Jr.

During the month of October, the Brazilian was, without a doubt, the clear favourite to take home the award that is presented to the player who is considered to be the best in the world.

Nevertheless, Rodri, who is 28 years old, was declared the victor during a ceremony that took place in Paris, France.

In spite of being named Men’s Club of the Year and Carlo Ancelotti being awarded Men’s Coach of the Year, Madrid chose not to participate in the event because they were not particularly pleased with the results.

Jamie Carragher, a former Liverpool defender and a pundit for CBS, described the banner as “absolutely ridiculous.” This caused for a split in opinion regarding the banner.

whereas Ancelotti was also of the same opinion.

Ancelotti stated, following the conclusion of the first leg, that “if he saw it, it served as a source of motivation for him.”

The fact that Vini Jr. was a member of the Los Blancos team that eliminated Manchester City from the Champions League with a 3-1 victory (6-3 aggregate) at the Santiago Bernabeu on Wednesday is likely to have made him happy.

As soon as the game was over, he published a mysterious message on social media.

“Okay, okay, okay, okay!!!!!!!!!” on X, he wrote this.

Additionally, Flamengo, the forward’s previous club, posted a message of support on their website.

@vinijr, you should be congratulated on advancing to the next round. It was posted on X that they said, “Stop crying your heart out!”

In the past, Vini has expressed his admiration for the club that is based in Brazil, using the phrase “club of his life” to describe them in the year 2023.

In an interview with L’Équipe, he stated, “I believe I could stay here [Real Madrid] for the entirety of my career, but the club of my life is Flamengo.”

Flamengo’s youth program produced the winger, who went on to make 69 appearances for the club before making the move to Madrid in 2018.

“I love life here in general, and it’s going well for my family too,” he stated in addition. “When my loved ones walk around, they are recognised, and they wish us nothing but happiness,” she said.

It was little by little that I became aware of this new life, new feelings, and a fervour… Madrid is one of a kind… This club is something that I hear about from people all over the world.

Aside from that, I find it to be enjoyable. Even though I’m more of a homebody, we participate in a lot of activities.
