The Sporting CP striker appears to have finally made up his mind after being linked to a Premier League switch throughout the summer.
Viktor Gyokeres, a striker for Sporting CP, is apparently thinking of taking drastic measures to compel a move to Arsenal.
The 27-year-old Gyokeres, who scored 54 goals in 52 games for the Portuguese champions in 2024–2025, has been strongly linked to leaving his current team, Sporting CP, all summer.
Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain, Al Hilal, and Manchester United have all expressed interest in the Swede, but it appears that Arsenal is his most likely destination.
A trade deal between Arsenal and Sporting is reportedly nearing completion, according to Portuguese publication Maisfutebol.
He would surpass Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Alexander Isak as the most expensive Swedish player in football history if the deal were to reach €80 million (£69 million).
David Ornstein of The Athletic reported on Sunday, July 6, that although Arsenal and Sporting are in advanced negotiations over Gyokeres, the amount is still up for debate, therefore a deal is not finalized.

According to reports, Mikel Arteta is “pushing” for the move to be finalized so Gyokeres can start the Gunners’ preseason.
Fabrizio Romano posted an update on his YouTube page on Sunday as well.
Due to the impending arrival of Victor Gyokeres to Arsenal, Romano stated: “Today guys, we have to open with a big bomba that will mark this summer transfer window.” Viktor Gyokeres is getting very close to joining Arsenal, although it could just take a few hours or days at most.
It’s significant because Arsenal has been searching for a striker for a while, but we are almost done in the competition to replace Mikel Arteta at number nine, and Viktor Gyokeres appears to be the man.

“Why? Arsenal has made significant progress in its negotiations with Sporting for Victor Gyokeres over the past 24 to 48 hours, in secret, in silence, in Portugal, and through direct talks.”
Additionally, he implied on X that Gyokeres was prepared to make a significant sacrifice in order to close the sale.
“Viktor Gyökeres has agreed to forfeit €2 million of his salary to help Arsenal and Sporting negotiate,” Romano said. Gyökeres does his best and forgoes money to accommodate Sporting’s insistence on a greater cost than Arsenal’s offer.
Gyokeres is anticipated to return to Sporting training on Friday, July 11, later than the majority of his colleagues, according to a CNN Portugal story on Monday. Even so, a transfer might be finished before then.
