As teams from across Europe, including Manchester United, continue to be linked to a bid for the Sporting Lisbon striker, Viktor Gyokeres’ asking price has been made public.
He is among the most sought-after football players in the world right now. Gyokeres has been tipped for a high-profile move after scoring 24 goals in 19 games this season across all competitions.
As of right now, Manchester United, the front-runner to sign Sweden’s best talisman, has been linked to teams like Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain, and Barcelona.
The Sun claims that Gyokeres has already decided which team he wants to play for in the future and that he is adamant about getting back together with former Sporting manager Ruben Amorim.
Before the January transfer market opens, the 26-year-old will undoubtedly have many possibilities, and his team is looking at options from all over Europe.
According to a recent rumor from The Athletic, Gyokeres is expected to depart Sporting after the end of the current campaign, while a January move is not completely out of the question.
Sporting is ‘likely’ to do business for about €70 million [£58 million], despite the striker’s contract at the Estadio Jose Alvalade reportedly having a huge €100 million [£83 million] release clause.
At the Portuguese club, Gyokeres developed a strong relationship with Amorim, which inevitably puts United in the running if they are interested.
However, the source claims that there is “no guarantee” that he will support a move to Old Trafford because of that relationship. The matter is still “open” while the player and his team decide what to do next.
Amorim was questioned about the possibility of rejoining Gyokeres in Manchester before to joining United.
“No, no, no,” was his response. “I can’t laugh about that right now. It was difficult for me to go, and I will run into issues if I start making jokes about it with Gyokeres. I will show respect since this is my city and my nation.

Amorim continued, “Viktor has to stay until the end of the season and then his life is going, maybe, somewhere else.”
