Viktor Gyokeres’ next club looks to have been determined after one of the clubs chasing him appeared to withdraw from the race for his signature.
Gyokeres is one of the world’s most sought-after strikers, having scored an incredible 97 goals in 102 games for Sporting CP.
The Swede appears to have got permission to leave Sporting this summer, and he has sparked serious interest from many of Europe’s top clubs.
Arsenal are looking for a new striker after finishing second in the Premier League for the third consecutive season, but it appears that he is not their primary target.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the Champions League semi-finalists are “advancing” in their pursuit of RB Leipzig’s 22-year-old striker Benjamin Sesko, with “discussions underway and proceeding well” among all parties concerned.
The Slovenian is expected to make a huge move this summer, with estimates estimating a cost of £75 million.

This latest development could offer Manchester United a decisive advantage over Gyokeres, who trained under Ruben Amorim at Sporting and has developed into a world-class finisher.
