Viktor Gyokeres has ‘chosen’ his next club as Fabrizio Romano drops bombshell update

Viktor Gyokeres of Sporting Clube de Portugal has reportedly picked his future club.

Gyokeres is in high demand following a fantastic season with Sporting, in which he scored 54 goals and assisted 13 times across all competitions.

So far, the 27-year-old has been connected with some of Europe’s major teams, such as Manchester United, Juventus, Arsenal, and Chelsea.

Earlier this week, it was claimed that Sporting received a first bid for Gyokeres.

According to Portuguese newspaper Record, Arsenal was the first club to submit an official bid for Gyokeres, valued at €60 million including add-ons, at a meeting on Wednesday.

Gyokeres has reportedly decided on his next location.

Taking to social media, transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano revealed that Gyokeres’ first priority is to join Arsenal.

He stated on X: “Despite recent calls from Manchester United, Viktor Gyökeres’ first priority is to join Arsenal this summer. Arsenal continues to analyze the issue, with Gyökeres being an option amid Šeško talks that have yet to be finalized.

“United remain keen but believe deal now unlikely.”

Gyokeres resorted to social media this week to address the speculation about his future plans.

On Instagram, he wrote: “There is a lot of talk right now, and most of it is false.” “I will speak when the time is right.”

Romano earlier indicated that there is a ‘tight situation’ between Sporting and Gyokeres.

He posted on social media: “Tense situation between Viktor Gyökeres and Sporting.” Despite a previous agreement for an exit cost of roughly €65 million including add-ons, Sporting’s president insists on a bigger fee.

“The price is still under the €100 million clause, but not €65 million currently. Gyökeres was described as enraged.

Aside from Gyokeres, Arsenal has been connected to RB Leipzig forward Benjamin Sesko.

It has been stated that conversations have taken place regarding a summer transfer, but nothing has been decided upon as yet.
