It is anticipated that Viktor Gyokeres will surpass all previous Swedish football players in terms of price.
Reportedly, Viktor Gyokeres is ‘near’ to signing a contract with his next team.
With connections to Manchester United and Juventus, among other European powerhouses, Gyokeres has dominated the summer transfer market.
However, Arsenal is the Swede’s top target because they are determined to get a new No. 9 this summer.
In order to bring in a forward for the 2025–2026 campaign, Mikel Arteta has identified Gyokeres.
A’record-breaking’ transfer seems to be on the verge of completion.
The Portuguese publication Maisfutebol reports that today, July 6, Arsenal will finalize a deal with Sporting CP for Gyokeres.
He would become the most expensive Swedish player in football history if the transaction were to reach €80 million (£69 million), surpassing deals featuring Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Alexander Isak.

His reported move to Arsenal surpasses Isak’s move from Real Sociedad to Newcastle United (£63 million) and Ibrahimovic’s move from Inter Milan to Barcelona (£57 million).
David Ornstein further asserts that while personal agreements on a five-year contract are in place, the Gunners are in “advanced talks” with Sporting CP.
Gyokeres’ goal-scoring prowess at Sporting CP has garnered a lot of notice.
After joining the team from Coventry City, he scored 43 goals in his first season before scoring an incredible 54 goals the previous season.
Despite having played for Brighton in the past, Gyokeres has never been in the Premier League. Although he never appeared in the league, he played eight games for the team.
Before joining Sporting, the 27-year-old established himself in the Championship with Coventry, scoring 38 goals in 91 games.

It looks like Arsenal is about to get their man.
Arteta ‘promised’ a large summer of spending when he spoke during the previous season.
“Now we want to increase the depth of the squad, but as well we want to increase the quality and the skills that we need to go to the next step,” he stated. “It’s going to be a big one and we are very excited about it.”
This summer, Arsenal acquired midfielder Martin Zubimendi from Sociedad and goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga from Chelsea.
Arteta is also considering Noni Madueke, a winger for Chelsea.
