The England international was introduced as Real Madrid’s latest star acquisition on Thursday.
Trent Alexander-Arnold, a former Liverpool player, stunned the audience when he delivered his first Real Madrid address in excellent Spanish.
Real Madrid formally introduced Alexander-Arnold as their second acquisition of the summer on Thursday morning during a presentation at Real Madrid City, the club’s training site.
During the presentation, members of the Spanish media, club officials, and the Englishman’s family watched a highlight reel of his time at Liverpool, before Real Madrid president Florentino Perez lauded their new signing as one of the world’s best.
Shortly after, Alexander-Arnold stood in front of the media to say his first words as a Real Madrid player, and he stunned the audience with his address in excellent Spanish.
Taking to the Real Madrid platform, the 26-year-old stated that signing for the club was a dream come true and praised them for the opportunity to win trophies.
He said, “Thank you all for the opportunity. Signing for Madrid is not something that happens every day.
“This is a dream come true. I’m incredibly excited to exhibit my game to the Real Madrid fans.
“I understand the responsibility that comes with playing here. I’m going to give it my all to showcase my skills and win a lot of titles.

Alexander-Arnold followed in the footsteps of England teammate and close friend Jude Bellingham, who surprised the media with his Spanish during his debut in June 2023.
Prior to Alexander-Arnold’s comments, Perez praised the defender on joining the club and claimed he was one of the finest in the world.
“We’ve signed a legend, one of the best in the world,” Perez announced.
“Trent’s desire came true. You’ve chosen to play for Real Madrid, the world’s biggest club.”
Although it is unclear when Alexander-Arnold will make his La Liga debut, it is possible that it will take place as early as June 18 during Real Madrid’s Club World Cup match against Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal.
