According to Tipsbladet, Oscar Fraulo of Borussia Mönchengladbach is expected to join Derby County during the winter transfer window.
The Championship club expressed interest in the 22-year-old while he was at FC Utrecht earlier this year. They were unable to execute the operation at the time, but this will not be the case in the future window.
On Christmas Eve, Tipsbladet reported that Derby County had reached an agreement with Gladbach. They also stated that the two clubs are finalizing the specifics of the transaction, and John Eustace confirmed his team’s interest in the midfielder.
Two days later, we published reports from Germany that the Rams would pay €1 million for Fraulo. He has only six months left on his contract, therefore the compensation is quite minimal.
Derby County appear to have worked out the final technicalities with Gladbach to complete this transaction, as a new report from Tipsbladet confirms it is a ‘done deal’.
Fraulo reportedly finished medical testing with the English team on Tuesday and signed a contract till 2029. They ‘purchased’ the player from the Bundesliga team.
Derby County must make Fraulo’s arrival official, and that is the last thing missing to complete the operation.
