Tom Brady addresses the latest situation at Birmingham City following the Peaky Blinders reveal.

Birmingham City has been involved in various large sponsorship deals under the ownership of Knighthead Capital Management, in an effort to elevate the club’s status as a ‘global’ brand.

The drama has become a part of popular culture since the release of its first series in 2013, and it is naturally most associated with Birmingham, having been based on gang crime in the district of Small Heath, where Blues’ historic ground – St. Andrew’s @ Knighthead Park – has stood since 1906.

Since his initial investment in the club in July 2023, Tom Wagner and other members of the Knighthead board in B9 have immersed themselves in the locals’ matchday habits while also thinking outside the box when it comes to increasing the club’s visibility from all angles around the globe.

It certainly helps that Steven Knight, the creator of Peaky Blinders, is one of the most well-known Bluenoses by repute, and the 66-year-old has been intimately involved in various projects backed by Knighthead since their takeover over three years ago.

Another planned event is a Peaky Blinders-themed matchday takeover for the forthcoming Good Friday home game against Blackburn Rovers.

While many Blues fans are currently dissatisfied by developments on the pitch at St. Andrew’s, co-owner Tom Brady has responded to a recent expose about the aforementioned collaboration.

Brady, of course, has only raised the attention on the Blues’ current plight, notably in his own United States, as a result of a brilliant NFL career that included seven Super Bowl victories.

The 48-year-old is now Birmingham’s ‘Advisory Board chairman’, with a reported 3.3 percent shareholding, and has been observed at several of the club’s most recent high-profile matches, including the 3-1 victory over Wrexham in September 2024 and the EFL Trophy final defeat to Peterborough United 11 months ago.

Supporters were also given a greater understanding of his engagement through the Amazon Prime series ‘Built in Birmingham: Brady & the Blues’, which aired in August, and he is frequently seen delivering messages of encouragement and support after matches.

With the club teasing the aforementioned takeover day next Friday, they issued a series of photographs in which Tomoki Iwata, Paik Seung-ho, Demarai Gray, and record signing Jay Stansfield were seen posing in classic ‘Peaky Blinder’ clothing, including a flat cap.

Brady was clearly a fan of the quartet’s appearance, as he commented to the picture with three ‘fire’ emojis, while other replies were more divided, with one conclusion reading: “Nearly as embarrassing as having a firework display for a League Two side in the EFL Trophy.”

Steven Knight has disclosed a significant Birmingham City request amid the Peaky Blinders-themed cooperation.

The aforementioned Knight also assisted Blues with the unveiling of the 62,000-seater Powerhouse stadium in November, which was hosted at Digbeth Loc Studios, the principal filming location for the just released film.

The lifelong Blues fan also expressed his joy that the club had teamed with Netflix to commemorate its latest screening, as well as stating one key wish for the club in the future.

That, of course, includes a fairytale comeback for Real Madrid and England ace Jude Bellingham, who played only 44 senior games for the club before being moved to Borussia Dortmund in July 2020.

“He came back from Madrid and appeared in the film to launch the design for the stadium and did his bit, so I want him to come back [to play for Birmingham] one day,” says Knight.
