Football never sleeps. During any of the 86400 seconds in a 24-hour day, somewhere in the world, someone is doing anything linked to the beautiful game, whether it’s scoring a last-minute winner in a high-profile match, sharing their expert opinion on social media, or simply booting a ball against a wall with their friends.

It is therefore impossible for any human being to keep up with everything that is going on in the game, and it is often those small yet most intriguing moments, such as a fan’s alternative viewpoint of a penalty save, a three-second yet incredibly telling interaction between two arch-rivals, or a thread on X explaining why N’Golo Kante is the nicest man in professional sport, that make football so great.

To assist solve this problem, GIVEMESPORT has launched our live blog, which features the finest of social media and the best football mini-stories from the last 24 hours.

On February 19th, Thierry Henry pulled up Michael Olise during an interview, resulting in a viral social media video.

Thierry Henry couldn’t help but mock Michael Olise after the Bayern Munich star referred to him as ‘Titi’ rather than ‘coach’ during a live CBS Sports interview on Tuesday night. Olise, who was guided by Henry while representing France at the 2024 Olympics, spoke after Bayern qualified for the Champions League Round of 16 with a 1-1 tie against Celtic.

When asked by Micah Richards how he found the transition from Crystal Palace to Bayern Munich, Olise said: “It was a big one and definitely took some time to adjust. I spoke with Titi a lot, and while I was transitioning, he assisted me by giving me some advice.” Henry had Olise hurriedly backtracking when he said, “So it’s ‘Titi’ now, not coach?”. (Watch the amusing clip in full at 45 seconds in the video above).

On February 18th, Atalanta’s captain Rafael Toloi received an embarrassing red card.
The defender made a fool of himself when last season’s Europa League winners tumbled out of Europe.

Rafael Toloi absolutely lost his cool in the last stages of Atalanta’s Champions League play-off defeat to Club Brugge, resulting in a red card for the captain. In the 87th minute of the contest, the defender’s aggravation spilt over during a heated exchange.

As Maxim de Cuyper sought to disrupt the game’s rhythm by obstructing a throw-in, Toloi snapped. In a flash of wrath, he attempted to throw the ball at De Cuyper but lost his feet and slipped awkwardly. Determined to face him, Toloi charged after De Cuyper, prompting officials to intervene to save the situation from escalating further.

In the end, he received a straight red card for his outburst, while De Cuyper was given a yellow card for his smart gamesmanship, which enraged Toloi. With this remarkable change of events, Atalanta was eliminated from the Champions League, losing 5-2 on aggregate against Club Brugge following a 2-1 defeat in the first match.

17th February: Wigan Youngster Drops Brutal Celebration After First Goal At Everton’s New Stadium

Everton’s Under 18s were involved in a friendly against Wigan at Bramley-Moore Docks stadium

Everton has been ruthlessly mocked since the first goal was scored at the Bramley-Moore Docks Stadium. The Toffees are poised to relocate to their new home for the 2025-2026 season, bidding farewell to the famous Goodison Park. Meanwhile, their future stadium is being used for club-related events, with the under-18s set to play there on several occasions.

Thousands of Evertonians flocked to the stadium on Monday night to watch the junior squad face Wigan Athletic in a friendly, but things did not go as planned for the hosts. Athletic went ahead 1-0 within the first quarter of an hour, thanks to a nice finish from young midfielder Harrison Rimmer.

To add insult to injury, the child then mocked the Everton fans by holding up the number six, a reference to the amount of European Cups Everton’s arch-rivals Liverpool have won throughout their history.
