After a protracted recruitment process this summer, Manchester United eventually signed Manuel Ugarte, and it turns out that three players were crucial to his signing.
According to Manuel Ugarte, Facundo Pellistri, who was just sold, Bruno Fernandes, and Lisandro Martinez persuaded him to go for Manchester United.
After making agreements for players like Matthijs de Ligt and Joshua Zirkzee, Erik ten Hag signed the Uruguayan as his sixth summer acquisition, seeing that a new holding player was needed. The agreement was not simple, though, as negotiations over a price tag delayed the transaction until a £42.2 million (perhaps increasing to £50.7 million) agreement was reached.
However, personal terms were supposedly never a problem. This could be attributed to the three Red Devils players who Ugarte spoke with prior to making the move.
“I talked a lot with Bruno and Licha (Lisandro) before coming here.” I also talked to Facu Pellistri a lot,” Ugarte acknowledged to the media on behalf of the team. Although I’m eager to start, I also understand that this will come with a lot of responsibility, and I’m prepared for it.
“Since the first story broke, fans have been messaging me, something I’ve never seen before. We want to succeed because we believe that these supporters should see the team win championships.”
The Uruguayan mentioned the club’s history and his connections with powerful peers as justifications for joining when questioned elsewhere. “Well, first and foremost, it’s history because we all know what a massive club United is,” Ugarte said. “I also talked with Facu Pellistri quite a bit.
“He told me everything, including how amazing the atmosphere is on match days at Old Trafford. being present at the site of so many legendary football games.
I have conversed with a few players as well. along with Licha and Bruno. We have spoken extensively. Yes, I would say that I’m quite eager and thrilled. I’m prepared for it, as I am aware that it is a big responsibility.”
