Thomas Tuchel lucky to get England job – he won’t win anything with them

Fans of England need to put an end to their hopes that Thomas Tuchel will be able to bring the country some of the coveted trophies that they have been waiting for.

This is the opinion of Jens Lehmann, a former custodian for Germany and Arsenal, who is of the opinion that his home countryman is not suitable for the position. Instead, he informed the fans that they should anticipate that the humiliation would continue, despite the fact that the Football Association had hired a manager who was accustomed to achieving success.

The wait is almost over for Tuchel’s first game as the manager of the Three Lions, as his team will play Albania in a qualifier for the 2026 World Cup on March 21. Three days later, they will play Latvia in their second match.

The German, on the other hand, has been subjected to criticism even before he has been named to his first England squad. This is because reports have surfaced regarding his arrangement to work from home.

Tuchel reached a compromise with the Football Association that enabled him to travel back to Germany on a regular basis in order to spend time with his two children.

If the former manager of Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich, and Borussia Dortmund starts delivering early results and showing early signs of a positive brand of football, then it is possible that all of this will be forgotten in a short amount of time.

Given that he is the first German to manage England and the first foreigner to coach the men’s team since Italian Fabio Capello left in 2012, it is possible that some fans will not be convinced even if he leads England to victory over Albania and Latvia. Both of these accomplishments would be significant.

Given the history between the two countries, it is possible that some people in Germany were dissatisfied with Tuchel’s decision to take the England position. Robert Huth, a former star for Leicester and a Germany international, admitted that he would not be happy to see an English manager in charge of Germany.

Lehmann, on the other hand, did not concur with Huth’s decision but insisted that Tuchel was not only fortunate but also fortunate to be cast in the role.

Lehmann was also of the opinion that Huth was the only person who knew Tuchel to be a “traitor.”

During an appearance on talkSPORT Drive, Lehmann elaborated, “In my opinion, he is not a traitor.”

“In my opinion, he is extremely fortunate to have been offered such an excellent position. There must be a rationale behind his departure from Bayern Munich at this point in time. When it comes to Bayern Munich, it is extremely challenging to be fired.

Nevertheless, we are overjoyed for him that he is now serving as the English coach.

However, Lehmann was of the opinion that Tuchel would not be able to add to his collection of trophies as England manager, despite the fact that he had won 11 trophies throughout his managerial career, including the Champions League.

While Lehmann was speaking, he stated, “There is no such thing as being called a traitor.”

Robert was the one who initially shared that information with me. Robert is someone I like, and I don’t always agree with his opinions.

“It doesn’t make England more likely to win anything, but it’s good for him.”

Andy Goldstein, the host of talkSPORT Drive, immediately questioned Lehmann about why he believed that England’s chances of winning a trophy were not improved with Tuchel in charge, knowing that Tuchel had previously been successful.

“You have to look at Bayern Munich and how they played last season,” Lehmann stated to reporters.

“Then you will understand it. You’ll be able to see it if you have a foundation in football.

Bayer Leverkusen, coached by Xabi Alonso, finished the season undefeated and in first place in the Bundesliga. This brought about the first time in eleven years that Bayern Munich had given up control of the Bundesliga title.

He resigned from his position as manager of the German giants at the conclusion of the 2023–24 season, coinciding with Bayern’s decision to undergo a “sporting realignment.” Former Burnley manager Vincent Kompany took over as manager of Bayern.

In the present moment, Tuchel’s sole concentration is on delivering England’s men their first trophy since 1966; however, if Lehmann’s prediction is accurate, the wait will be even longer than it already is.
