Viktor Gyokeres has been associated with a number of different clubs throughout Europe.
Viktor Gyokeres has reportedly piqued the interest of a third Premier League team as the hunt for his signing continues.
Gyokeres has become one of the most sought-after players in the world of football, having scored 54 goals and assisted 13 in all competitions for Sporting Clube de Portugal during the 24/25 season.
So far, Juventus, Arsenal, and Manchester United have been connected with the Swedish international.
Earlier this month, it was reported that Arsenal was the first team to make an official proposal for Gyokeres, for €60 million plus add-ons.
According to trade specialist Fabrizio Romano, Gyokeres informed Sporting of his decision to quit the club.
He said on social media: “Viktor Gyökeres has already directly told Sporting president Varandas of his desire to depart and no longer intends to play for the club.
“Gyökeres wants new chapter, he feels heartbroken after exit pact and not expected to return to training as @abolapt reports.”
Now, a new report suggests that another Premier League club has expressed interest.
According to Portuguese news outlet CM Jornal, Premier League champions Liverpool have expressed interest in signing Gyokeres.
Gyokeres is reportedly on Liverpool’s radar as they try to strengthen their offensive options ahead of their championship defence.
Darwin Nunez is slated to leave Anfield, with Napoli his most likely destination.
Meanwhile, Luis Diaz and Cody Gakpo have been linked with moves away.
Liverpool had been linked with Alexander Isak and Hugo Ekitike as potential new signings, with Gyokeres now apparently joining the list.
The Reds are preparing for a busy summer transfer season, having already added Jeremie Frimpong and Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen.
Meanwhile, Bournemouth full-back Milos Kerkez is reportedly close to joining Liverpool, with an official announcement coming this week.
