In the match against Newcastle United, Thierry Henry saw a player from Manchester United do something that he had “never seen before.” Henry then proceeded to tear the man to pieces.
During the match between Bournemouth and Fulham, Henry was a guest on Monday Night Football alongside David Jones and Jamie Carragher.
MNF’s panel of analysts took a look back at the Premier League action that took place over the previous weekend, notably Manchester United’s humiliating 4-1 loss to Newcastle. The match was scheduled to take place at the Vitality Stadium.
St. James’ Park was the location where the Red Devils were destined to suffer their fourteenth league loss of the season.
Carragher and Henry provided an insightful analysis of Man United’s horrendous performance, during which the Arsenal veteran made a discovery that has not been brought up by anybody else.
He criticised Leny Yoro for his role in Newcastle’s third goal, which was scored by Harvey Barnes. Barnes made a break through the defence of Manchester United and scored a beautiful goal by cutting through the defence.
Henry had several questions about Yoro’s actions as he was studying the goal. Once Barnes had scored, it was possible to see him staring in the direction of the linesman.
“Please stay on (Leny) Yoro and what he’s asking for,” he cried on Sky Sports. “I appreciate your attention.” It is unclear to me what he is looking at; are you gazing at the linesman to determine whether or not he will come to your rescue?
“I don’t know if he thought there was an offside,” he subsequently stated. The fact that it is a goal is common knowledge; what are you looking at? I’m not sure, because I’ve never witnessed something like that. It is a goal, as we are all aware.
Additionally, Roy Keane, who was there in the studio for the Super Sunday match, did not pull any punches when he was analysing the winner.
“Barnes is brilliant, take nothing away from Barnes, but someone’s got to lunge at him, someone’s got to tackle him,” he stated to reporters.
It has been two weeks since they conceded a goal against Nottingham Forest; someone was racing down the middle of the pitch; they should have tackled him!
Keane continued by saying, “Tackle him, lunge at him, do something; how is it possible for someone to run through the middle without being touched?”
“United has been terrible with possession of the ball. Although it is possible for a player to make a mistake, you are a member of a team, and if you do make a mistake, you expect that one of your teammates would cover for you. However, on this United squad, no one is covering each other.
