Thierry Henry makes brutal comment about Speed when asked about playing football with him

Thierry Henry had a pretty harsh take when he was asked about internet personality IShowSpeed during the live Champions League coverage on CBS on Tuesday night.

Henry, 47, famous for his goal-scoring days at Barcelona and Arsenal, hung up his boots in 2014. Since then, he’s been diving into the media world and coaching.

But on Friday, he put on his boots for a meaningful reason. A Frenchman and a bunch of other legendary players, like Andres Iniesta, Andrea Pirlo, and Alessandro Del Piero, joined in for a charity match called ‘Match for Hope’ at the 974 Stadium in Doha, Qatar.

So, you’ve got Arsene Wenger, the former Arsenal manager, and Mauricio Pochettino, who’s currently the head coach of the USMNT, managing the two teams.

A bunch of influencers and internet personalities, like KSI and IShowSpeed, definitely stole the spotlight along with Henry.

Speed and Henry had a friendly debate about who was the fastest between them.

“I was chatting with your manager, and he mentioned that you were quicker than me back in the day,” Speed said.

“Oh sure, maybe,” Henry said. “Definitely with the ball.”

“I’m not really sure without the ball.” Hey, take a look at the videos!

Henry and Speed really hit it off, to the point where Henry invited Speed to join the CBS Sports’ Champions League coverage.

“I’d really love to go on that show… because we’ve got some things to chat about,” joked Speed.

So, on Tuesday evening, Speed’s name came up while they were covering the European matches on the broadcaster.

Henry really didn’t hold back when he talked about Speed’s football skills while chatting with Micah Richards, Jamie Carragher, and presenter Kate Scott.

Carragher was like, “Does he even get football… is he part of it?”

Henry joked, “I don’t know if [Speed] loves football; it seems like he was having a debate with the ball when he had it.”

Fans shared their thoughts on social media.

Someone mentioned, “Henry is unintentionally hilarious, and Jamie not knowing about Speed is just the funniest thing!”

Someone else chimed in, “This is a win, having Speed in the show could really make an impact.”

One person chimed in, saying, “Dude, when Speed shows up on this show, it’s going to be hilarious.”
