Thierry Henry didn’t hesitate when settling the Paul Scholes, Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard debate

When Thierry Henry was asked to choose the best midfielder in the history of the Premier League, he ultimately decided that Paul Scholes, Steven Gerrard, and Frank Lampard were the three best players in the league.

Henry, who is now 47 years old, is widely considered to be the best player in the history of the Premier League. He was a member of Arsenal from 1999 until 2007, and then he came back for a brief stint in 2012.

Henry played in the Premier League for a total of 258 matches, during which he scored 175 goals and assisted on 74 more.

Throughout his career, the Frenchman had the opportunity to compete against and play alongside some of the most talented players that the English top flight has ever assembled.

Because of this, Henry is in a good position to judge who the best midfielder in the history of the competition is, despite the fact that there are many contenders involved.

Nevertheless, when the legendary player from France made an appearance on the Monday Night Football program broadcast by Sky Sports in September of 2020, there was only one answer to the age-old question.

According to Henry, “Paul Scholes. The next person would have been Steven Gerrard, who would have been quite close behind him. On the other hand, I have to endorse Paul Scholes.

In his mind, he was just a little bit ahead. It was he who made Manchester United ticker. It is true that whenever we were playing them, we needed to find a way to stop him by any means necessary.

In addition, he stated, “I believe Stevie G is coming very close to him.” The winner would have to be Paul Scholes, however. It appeared that you guys in England had the best midfield in the world, at least on paper.

Henry was asked to name the player who, in his opinion, was the best Premier League player of the century up to that point in time. This enquire took place in the year 2015, five years earlier. And his response was the same as before.

While speaking to Sky News, he stated, “I do not believe that people have given him the credit that he deserves.” At least one of the best, if not the best, opponent I’ve ever faced in a game. Whatever he set his mind to…

“I think Paul Scholes is one of the best I’ve played against in this league, and seen anywhere.”

Henry was asked to name a club that he truly wished he had played for during the Champions League coverage that CBS Sports provided in the year 2022.

“Wow, let me think about that,” Henry said. I know it’s going to be difficult, but I’m going to have to leave, and everyone is aware that Liverpool is the destination.

“Oh, okay,” the presenter Kate Scott said in response, showing a hint of surprise at his response. I had no idea that was going to happen.
