Courtois went on: “The issue? We didn’t work together to press. We were impacted by two significant errors at the beginning of the game.
“Xabi’s strategy was not followed by us. We must examine it, but based on my observations, we consistently arrived late.
For Alonso, Real Madrid is ‘on the right track’ even after losing to PSG 4-0.
“It’s a tough defeat, but it’s a defeat to learn from, we are on the right track,” he said.
“A loss like this might occasionally serve as a reminder that you have a lot of work ahead of you.
“There is plenty to examine and discover. We are now aware of our location, where to search, and where we wish to be, so we can get ready for it.”
Alonso went on: “PSG is a group. We have only just started. It was hard; we suffered. We aim to improve on a lot of areas. Today is painful.
“We can do better. The margin is large. We depart as a stronger team after discovering certain benefits.
Real won four of their six Club World Cup games. They drew with Al Hilal and defeated Pachuca, Red Bull Salzburg, Juventus, and Borussia Dortmund. Naturally, they were defeated by PSG.
