Thibaut Courtois calls out his own Real Madrid teammates after what they did against Arsenal as he names player they’re missing

Thibaut Courtois has criticised his own Real Madrid colleagues by naming the ONE player that they are lacking on their roster.

The humiliating 5-1 aggregate loss that Real suffered at the hands of Arsenal resulted in the club’s elimination from the Champions League.

As a result of their humiliating performance at the Emirates two weeks ago, the holders entered the second leg of the match on Wednesday with a three-goal disadvantage.

At the Bernabeu, the Gunners emerged victorious by a score of 2-1, proving that Carlo Ancelotti’s squad had once again been defeated by Mikel Arteta’s formation.

After missing a penalty kick, Bukayo Saka made amends for his mistake by scoring the first goal of the game. The proceedings were tied by Vinicius Jr., but Gabriel Martinelli scored the game-winning goal in the last moments.

While Arsenal controlled the game, Real’s offensive was completely ineffective, and players like Kylian Mbappe and Jude Bellingham were unable to make a difference in the outcome of the contest.

Their strategies left a lot to be desired, and Courtois, who had saved Saka’s penalty kick in the first half, expressed his dissatisfaction with his team’s own strategies, querying why they crossed the ball so frequently.

While doing so, he made a reference to Joselu, who was there at several pivotal moments during Real Madrid’s Champions League campaign that ended in victory last year.

“We crossed a lot, but we didn’t have a player like Joselu,” he said to reporters. “Perhaps we ought to have used less crossing and experimented with different things. We must adopt a self-critical attitude.

“We have to be self-critical, sometimes we need to play more as a team.”

He continued by saying, “We have ZERO doubt about Carlo Ancelotti.” while referring to Ancelotti.

Following that, Courtois admitted that Arsenal had been the superior team during both legs of the match.

After saying, “Arsenal were better than us, that’s why they’re through,” he then turned his attention to potential outcomes for the remainder of the season and beyond. “We still have a long season ahead of us, with the league, the final in ten days, and then the Club World Cup,” said the football manager. Better is required of us.

Real Madrid will shift their focus to the La Liga competition as they now hold the second spot in the league, four points behind Barcelona, who is the leader of the league. There are seven games left in the league season.

Not to mention the Club World Cup, which will take place this summer, they also have a Copa del Rey final match versus Barcelona.
