‘There’s no point’ – Ben White says ‘nobody goes past’ William Saliba in Arsenal training

William Saliba, a teammate of Ben White’s at Arsenal, has been the recipient of a great deal of praise from White, who has revealed that during training, nobody even makes an effort to go past the defender since there is “no point.”

Over the course of the past two years, Saliba has established himself as one of the most highly ranked center backs in English football. This is despite the fact that he got off to a delayed start at Arsenal.

As a result of Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes’s inclusion in the official 2023/24 Premier League Team of the Season, the formidable tandem has continued to perform at the same level as they did in the previous season. As a result, the Gunners have the second-best defensive record in the league.

Arsenal, on the other hand, have not been able to maintain a clean sheet in any of their most recent three matches in the Premier League. The team coached by Mikel Arteta will be highly motivated to rectify this situation this coming weekend when they play Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium.

“It’s been beyond my comprehension. In an interview with Ben Foster for Amazon Prime, Arsenal defender White remarked of Saliba and Gabriel, “I’m not sure I’ve seen two better together.” Saliba and Gabriel are both at the top of their game.

I am completely and utterly amazed by Saliba. I am unable to articulate anything that may be considered a deficiency or anything that he most likely needs to improve upon.

“I am aware that everyone has something that they need to improve upon, but at the rate that he is playing, he is still so young.”

“That is so strange. It is evident that you can see flashes of how talented he is during training, but when he is actually playing, it is on a whole new level, and it is manifested.

“He is able to cruise through training without anyone overtaking him.”

To put it another way, it’s almost as if nobody even bothers to try since they are aware that there is no purpose.

It was then that White brought attention to Gabriel’s aerial menace in the opposing box, pointing out that Arsenal’s set-piece style was flourishing under Nicolas Jover’s direction.

“Gabriel has been unbelievable, and obviously the threat he has when he’s in the box is dangerous,” said Gabriel. “Saliba has taken a lot of the spotlight, but Gabriel has been incredible.” In addition, White stated.

“Each and every time you are given a corner, you have a feeling that you are going to score,”

In the event that the ball is in a suitable location, it is unquestionably a goal, which is quite remarkable.

However, White was aware that Arsenal had a special player “straight away” in training when Mikel Arteta made the decision to replace Aaron Ramsdale with David Raya during the previous season. This decision caused eyebrows to be raised.

“During the training, you were able to observe the level immediately.” All you need is his aura to know that you are secure,’ he said.

This is an incredible technique. Recently, he has started making saves, which is something that he does on a daily basis in training.

“Despite the pressure that he has been under, he has been so consistent.” The method is an excellent one.
