Arne Slot was sent off in the aftermath of Wednesday’s Merseyside derby, and it was not because of his so-called “aggressive” handshake, according to a new report that has provided further insight into the reasons for his dismissal.
James Tarkowski, the captain of Everton, scored a goal with a volley in the final minutes of the Premier League match that took place at Goodison Park last night. This goal allowed the Toffees to salvage a dramatic point.
Following an extensive review by the video assistant referee, Arne Slot and a few other Liverpool players were dissatisfied with the result because they believed that Ibrahima Konate had been fouled in the course of the play that led to Tarkowski’s equalizer in the 98th minute.
In point of fact, Slot was so aggravated by the incident that he was sent off by referee Michael Oliver. This occurred just a few moments after Slot had shaken hands with the official in a manner that was both an aggressive and sarcastic manner.
It was widely believed that the handshake was the only factor that led to his termination; however, a report from the Daily Mail has now suggested that this is not the case.
It is believed that Slot approached Oliver following the final whistle because he had the impression that Konate had been pushed during the buildup to the match.
However, according to sources who were “in spitting distance” of the event that took place at Goodison, Slot was disciplined for two separate “rants” that Oliver believed warranted a red card. Both of these incidents took place at the same time.
As this article is being written, the Football Association is currently analyzing the incident that occurred between Slot and Oliver, in addition to other match footage, in order to determine whether or not the Dutchman should be charged.
When the Premier League announced on its website on Thursday morning that the Liverpool manager would be given a two-match suspension, there was a lot of confusion among the fans. On the other hand, this was an error, and the cause of the mistake was human error.
Following the conclusion of Wednesday’s game, Slot’s assistant, Sipke Hulshoff, was also sent to the sidelines, and he may be subject to a touchline suspension.
According to the lip reader, Arne Slot communicated with the authorities.
Jeremy Freeman, a professional lip reader, has revealed to SPORTbible what Slot, who is 46 years old, is said to have said to officials in an outburst that is not typical of him. The language that Slot used has not yet been made public.
That is not a push, is it? If you go back and watch that piece of content once more, it is a f**king disgrace. It is said that Slot yelled at one of the assistant referees before simultaneously congratulating the other on his performance.
After the Dutchman had finished shaking hands with Oliver, he made a sarcastic comment to the referee, saying, “Great game.”
Slot was shown a red card, and while Virgil van Dijk, the captain of Feyenoord, was getting involved, the former manager of Feyenoord added, “Sure, you give me a red for that? I will look into it for a later time… you and I, don’t you think? Please show me a red card, and we’ll discuss this further later.
