‘The most likely’ – Rasmus Hojlund could leave Manchester United in blockbuster swap for star striker

The’most likely’ striker that Manchester United is interested in signing during the summer session has been identified.

It is possible that Rasmus Hojlund will leave Old Trafford as part of a trade if the forward is moved to another club.

Since joining the club from Atalanta in the summer of 2017, the Danish striker has had a difficult time maintaining consistency in front of the net.

As a result of his goal against Leicester on Sunday, he has scored 24 goals for United in 82 matches played for the club.

However, that goal was his first in 21 matches, which came after the Red Devils had been experiencing a goal drought that was excruciating.

On account of the fact that Hojlund still has three years left on his contract, it is now anticipated that he will leave the club during the summer.

“I think he’ll move on at the end of the season,” Alex Crook, who works for talkSPORT, said in an interview with Inside Devils. I have a feeling that Italy is interested in this.

“I think Ineos and Ruben Amorim are not necessarily convinced that he’s the man to lead the line moving forward.”

At the time of his transfer to Manchester United, Hojlund had played for Atalanta and scored nine goals in 32 Serie A matches.

During his first season with the Red Devils, he had been the team’s leading scorer, but he has managed to score a significantly lower number of goals this season.

In the event that the 22-year-old player leaves, Ruben Amorim would be left with a limited number of attacking options, with Joshua Zirkzee being his only other senior striker options.

Despite the fact that Chido Obi-Martin, a young player who recently joined the team from Arsenal, has made an appearance this season, it is likely that Hojlund will be replaced in the squad by a new striker.

Crook continued by saying, “(Hugo) Ekitike has been played down to me today.” This was in reference to probable additions. Regarding his current club, I am not certain that he is in any kind of a hurry to leave it.

I believe that Victor Osimhen is the most likely candidate because I believe that he will be available at a price that United is able to pay for him.

“I believe that his wage demands have decreased from where they were a year ago. It is obvious that he has been playing in Turkey, and I believe that he has that proven pedigree.

“So it wouldn’t surprise me if Hojlund goes back to Italy, and there’s interest from the likes of Napoli I’m told, and Osimhen comes in the opposite direction.”

At the beginning of this summer, Victor Osimhen will enter the final year of his contract with Napoli, which comes two years after he won the Serie A golden boot.

The Nigerian player is currently on loan at Galatasaray, where he has made 30 appearances across all competitions and scored 26 goals.

Hugo Ekitike, who is 22 years old and plays for Eintracht Frankfurt, has been the subject of speculation regarding both Manchester United and Arsenal.

On the other hand, the German side places a value of approximately £67 million on the French Under-21 international football player, who still has four years left on his contract.
