The EFL Championship table since Philippe Clement’s arrival at Norwich City, following a major claim from Chris Wilder.

Norwich City’s amazing surge up the Championship table under Philippe Clement continued on Wednesday evening, as they defeated Sheffield United 2-1 at Carrow Road, thereby destroying the Blades’ ambitions of reaching the play-offs.

Goals by Jack Stacey and Amankwah After Jairo Riedewald opened the scoring for the visitors in the first half, Forson sealed the victory for the Canaries. The win has moved Norfolk up to 15th in the rankings, maintaining a 10-point lead over the bottom three while cutting the gap on the top six to nine points.

After a difficult start to the season under Liam Manning, City have persevered admirably, and under Clement’s leadership, they have become one of the teams to watch in the second division.

Following Chris Wilder’s comments after the final whistle, Football League World has looked at the Championship table since the Belgian took over Norwich.

The Canaries’ recent record has been tremendously promising, and Wilder acknowledged it following his side’s defeat on Wednesday. He stated (via: Pink Un).”Since the manager has arrived, they appear to be in good condition. “I anticipated a challenging game given their recent performance and results.”They are in a bad situation (at the table), but I believe we quieted the fans, nullified Kenny (McLean) sliding into the back three, and Sam Field dropping in, and we were in a good spot.”

The 58-year-old is correct; Norwich has finished sixth in the Championship league since Clement took over as manager. Only the current top four (Millwall, Coventry City, Ipswich Town, and Middlesbrough), as well as Sheffield United, have gained more points since November 18th.

The Canaries have the fourth greatest PPG record since that date, having played one fewer game than all of the teams above them in this particular table, and they will be a threat next season if they maintain their form moving into 2026/27, with promotion undoubtedly the goal.

Philippe Clement has restored belief in Norwich City.

Manning’s connection to the club made his appointment as the Canaries’ new head coach in the summer appear to be a perfect fit. However, he only scored 9 points in 15 games, six of which came in his first four.

Norwich only won twice under the current Huddersfield Town manager, and the choice to fire him in favor of signing Clement has shown to be inspired, but it came too late for the squad to compete for the play-offs this season.

Nonetheless, after obtaining a significant fee for Josh Sargent in recent weeks, Norwich will have plenty of possibilities to make the required alterations to their squad in the summer to cut the gap on the division’s top sides even further.

However, with nine games remaining this season, the Canaries may be able to defy expectations and break into the top six with an extraordinary run of form at the end of the season.
