The Chase’s Darragh Ennis creates ‘impossible’ Premier League transfers quiz and barely anyone has got 5/5

Darragh Ennis, one of the Chasers from ITV’s The Chase, has put together a really tough quiz about Premier League transfers that’s been making the rounds on TikTok.

A 44-year-old scientist and postdoctoral researcher at Oxford University first showed up on The Chase as a contestant back in 2017. After that, producers noticed him and invited him to join the show as a Chaser.

Outside of the show, Ennis, a Liverpool fan, has turned into a TikTok sensation lately. His fun football quizzes have been racking up thousands of views on the platform.

One of his toughest challenges so far included five questions about transfers in the Premier League.

Check out the clip below where ‘The Menace’ kicks things off by asking about the priciest transfer between two Premier League clubs. That would be Moises Caicedo, who made the move to Chelsea from Brighton for about £115 million.

If you can’t check out the clip, no worries! Here are the other questions for you.

Do you know who the first player was to transfer between two Premier League clubs and break the British transfer record? Just a little hint: it happened back in 1995 and it was for £7 million.

Back in 1995, Andy Cole really made waves when he transferred from Newcastle United to Manchester United, breaking records in the process.

Do you know which player has signed and played for the most clubs in the Premier League? Hey, do you remember which team he played for during those eight years between 1998 and 2018?

Hey, have you heard of Marcus Bent? The striker had stints with Crystal Palace, Blackburn Rovers, Ipswich Town, Leicester City, Everton, Charlton Athletic, Wigan Athletic, and Birmingham City.

Ennis mentioned, “For anyone who said Peter Crouch, he’s actually tied for second place with seven.”

Hey, do you know which custodian was bought for the highest transfer fee by a Premier League club?

Kepa Arrizabalaga, another Chelsea signing, holds the record for the highest fee paid for a custodian. He joined the Blues from Athletic Bilbao for £71 million, making it the most ever spent on a custodian.

So, when Jermain Defoe made that move from Spurs to West Ham, do you remember which striker was sent to West Ham as part of the deal?

Bobby Zamora was included in the deal that brought Defoe to Spurs back in February 2004. He became a cult hero at the Hammers, netting 40 goals in 149 appearances across all competitions.

How did it go for you? We’d love to hear your score in the comments!
