When discussing Celtic, Kris Boyd, who works as a pundit on Sky Sports, frequently loses his temper. Whenever the Hoops are in the spotlight, his lack of poise usually makes him appear unprofessional. Boyd focused on the Champions League play-off draw with Kairat Almaty after Celtic’s victory against Livingston, but he was shortly silenced by Celtic veteran Chris Sutton as he launched into an odd tirade criticising Brendan Rodgers.

Chris Boyd’s jab at Rodgers is stopped by Chris Sutton.
Boyd interrupted Sutton’s criticism of the Celtic board’s management of the transfer market during the broadcast, claiming that Rodgers had received support from “over £60m spent since he came back.”
He was challenged by Sutton:
“Did they correctly replace Kyogo? Did they take Nicolas Kuhn’s place?
Boyd retorted, “Why sign more midfielders when you already have plenty if you need players in those positions?”
“That’s irrelevant,” Sutton retorted. How much is the net spend?
Boyd rejected that argument, stating that it “didn’t matter,” and reiterated his assertion that Rodgers was impervious to criticism. Sutton, however, redoubled his efforts, claiming that Celtic had not improved in crucial areas and that the fans’ ire at the board was warranted.
Sutton shares the annoyances of the fans.
Many Celtic fans are angry over what they perceive to be a subpar acquisition plan, and Sutton’s remarks reflected their sentiments. Boyd, on the other hand, appeared to be out of touch with the supporters’ sentiments and missed the message.
There is optimism that the board will finally provide Rodgers with the resources he needs as Celtic closes in on Michel-Ange Balikwisha. This will, at least momentarily, stop Boyd’s incessant tirades against Celtic.
