Tammy Abraham prays on the pitch after Mike Maignan’s sickening collision with AC Milan teammate

Following a violent altercation with teammate Alex Jimenez, AC Milan goalie Mike Maignan was carried out on a stretcher.

Maignan rushed out of his box to clear a long ball that had been pushed out from Udinese’s backline in the 52nd minute of Milan’s 4-0 victory over them.

Since both players kept their attention on the ball, Maignan’s effort to head the ball away from danger ended with him colliding with Jimenez.

The referee immediately stopped the fight when the contact knocked Maignan down cold.

Medical personnel hurried to Maignan’s help and put him in the recovery position right away.

Later, Maignan was carried on a stretcher from the field.

Tammy Abraham, a replacement striker for Milan, became so worried about Maignan’s health after the event that he fell to his knees and prayed for the goalie.

Fortunately, according to several sources, Maignan was aware and able to speak when he left the pitch.

Since then, the Frenchman has been sent to the hospital for more evaluations.

Later, in the 55th minute, Marco Sportiello took his position.

Jimenez was removed for Abraham after remaining on the pitch for an additional twenty minutes despite his role in the accident.

Strahinja Pavlovic and Rafael Leao had given Milan a 2-0 lead at the time of the incident.

Tijjani Reijnders and Theo Hernandez added goals in the second half to complete the four-goal thumping.

Even after winning, Milan’s players’ first thoughts were of Maignan.

“The most important thing is that Mike is okay,” Christian Pulisic told DAZN in a post-match interview. We are thinking of him.

“It’s a strange environment with what had happened before in Udine,” Leao, who scored the goal, continued.

“After a productive week of work, we arrived at the game with a strong sense of focus.

“This victory, however, is for Maignan.”

Thankfully, Mike is doing well, said Milan defender Matteo Gabbia. The doctor informed us that he was in the hospital for testing but that he was doing OK when we all asked how he was. In addition to being an excellent captain, he put his face in risk.

Despite moving up to 51 points, Milan’s victory kept them in ninth place on the Serie A table, four points behind sixth-place Lazio, who hold the league’s final European qualification spot.

Udinese lost to the Italian powerhouses for the fourth time in a row, dropping them to 11th place with 40 points.
