Steven Gerrard’s Liverpool joke that has left him hanging onto Saudi job by a thread

After claiming that he prefers to watch Liverpool prior to putting on Al-Ettifaq’s training sessions, Steven Gerrard has been forced to retract a joke that has caused supporters in Saudi Arabia to get enraged.

Despite the fact that Steven Gerrard is having a difficult time achieving success at Al-Ettifaq, he is not likely to have won over the organization’s leadership by making jokes about watching Liverpool.

Even though the legendary manager from Anfield is continuing his career in Saudi Arabia, there are rumors that he will be fired because his team is now in the middle of the table. Only two of Al-Ettifaq’s most recent eight matches have resulted in a victory, and the team was recently eliminated from the King Cup competition by higher-level competition.

However, it appears like Gerrard is more concerned with keeping an eye on Liverpool than he is with changing the fortunes of his Saudi team. This is despite the fact that he is under pressure to turn things around.

The former manager of Aston Villa was successful in luring John Achterberg over to the Middle East with him. Achterberg is another someone who has links to Liverpool. In addition, he made a joke about how he reorganizes training in order to make it possible for him to see the Reds play, which requires the players to complete their workouts at night.

In an interview with Redmen TV, he stated, “John and I personally have more than one eye on it.” The games involving Liverpool have taken up the entirety of our calendar! Now that we’ve been exercising at nine or ten o’clock at night, the guys are making their way over to me.

Because of their words, there was a significant response, and Gerrard and his Al-Ettifaq charges did not live up to the expectations that were set for them. Over the course of his tenure, the former Red has been subjected to a number of failures, one of which being the abrupt departure of Jordan Henderson, who reneged on the hefty contract he had signed with the club.

In order to clarify his statements about Liverpool, Gerrard has been forced to come out and make it clear that he is putting his focus on enhancing Al-Ettifaq. Prior to the derby match that took place on Saturday against Al-Qadsiah, which they were unsuccessful in, he stated, “I am aware of where all of this has come from. While I was on a podcast, I was attempting to gather money for a children’s charity in order to ensure the organization’s continued existence and success.

“When I was asked if I still followed Liverpool, I responded by saying, ‘Of course, I still follow Liverpool.’ They had a significant impact on my life and helped mold me into the person I am today, as well as the coach I am.

“However, I would like to make it absolutely clear that Ettifaq is my top priority. I have a contract with Ettifaq, and I am in a position that is quite fortunate. Despite the fact that I have a great deal of respect for all of my past clubs, including Liverpool, Aston Villa, Rangers, and LA Galaxy, my first priority is always this job and making this club as excellent as it can possibly be, both on and off the field. I am now all-in, and I want to remain so in the future.
