Steven Gerrard, a legendary player for Liverpool, has already expressed his opinion regarding the rumoured agreement between Trent Alexander-Arnold and Real Madrid to sign him.
The news that Alexander-Arnold intends to end his association with Liverpool, which dates back to when he was six years old, was reported by talkSPORT on Tuesday. Alexander-Arnold announced his intention to do so this summer.
The right-back’s current deal at Anfield is set to expire in June, and he is already free to negotiate a pre-contract with clubs in Europe.
At this point, it appears that Alexander-Arnold will take over as Real Madrid’s first-choice right-back, replacing Daniel Carvajal, who is still sidelined with an injury to his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL).
The vast majority of Liverpool supporters have had a furious reaction to the news, particularly in light of the fact that he is scheduled to leave Anfield on a free transfer.
His birthplace was Liverpool, and he spent his childhood there as well.
Similarities can be drawn between this move and the one made by Reds legend Steven Gerrard, who once asserted that he was approached to sign with Real Madrid.
Gerrard was born in the borough of Knowsley, which is located in Merseyside. He played professionally for Liverpool for seventeen years, and he only left to play for the LA Galaxy, a team that competes in Major League Soccer, for his final year before retiring.

Gerrard is famous for turning down a contract offer from Chelsea in 2004, and he has stated that he has also turned down Real Madrid’s advances.
It was during the time that Jose Mourinho had just recently taken over as manager of Stamford Bridge that Chelsea made their offer. At the same time, he was also the manager of Real Madrid when Chelsea made their offer in 2010, which was shortly after he was appointed.
Gerrard provided the following explanation in an interview that took place in 2014: “It is very flattering to be linked to a huge club like Real Madrid.”
“Throughout the course of my career, I’ve had a few opportunities to move to Real Madrid, but I’ve managed to resist the temptation to do so because of the strong connection I have to the club that I grew up playing for.
In the future, it is possible that I will look back and regret that I did not push myself to my limits and experience a change of scenery by moving to a different country. However, if I had left the club that I adore, I would have felt an even greater sense of regret.
“Yes, I am a huge supporter of Real Madrid. It is a unique and exclusive club. On the other hand, Liverpool is my #1 club.
It was not just Gerrard who declined a transfer to Real Madrid during his time in the Premier League; other players did as well.
Roy Keane, a legend of Manchester United, stated in an episode of The Overlap earlier this year that Real Madrid had expressed interest in signing him after he left United in 2005. The deal would have been for a period of one and a half years from the time of his departure.
In spite of this, he chose to sign with Celtic instead.
“When I left United, I went up to Celtic,” Keane began. “I was transferred there.” “However, I had the opportunity to spend a year and a half playing for Real Madrid. They made me an offer of one and a half years.
“Celtic was, once again, a kind of emotional [decision]… which is fine, I didn’t mind making decisions of that nature,” she said.
“I was thinking, I was 34, could I go to Real Madrid and make an impact?”
