There are still rumors that Viktor Gyokeres is leaving Sporting Clube de Portugal.
Frederico Varandas, president of Sporting Clube de Portugal, has made a forceful remark on Viktor Gyokeres.
Over the past few weeks, Gyokeres, 27, has been strongly connected to leaving Sporting.
The Swedish international has previously been linked to teams including Chelsea, Manchester United, Arsenal, and Liverpool.
According to reports, Gyokeres has’refused’ to rejoin Sporting for preseason training, which began this week, and is favoring a move to Arsenal.
Sporting president Varandas was said to have made a strongly worded statement on Saturday night.
According to the statement, Gyokeres may face a “heavy fine” and be required to offer “an apology to the group.”
“Sporting president Frederico Varandas issues a strong statement to Agencia Lusa after Gyökeres did not report back to training, as expected,” journalist Ben Jacobs reported on social media.
“We’re at ease. The market closing, a hefty fine, and an apology to the group will resolve everything.
“If they [Arsenal] don’t want to pay Viktor’s fair market value, we’ll be very comfortable with that for the next three years.”
“Not only are the geniuses who are coming up with this strategy entirely mistaken, but they are also making it more difficult for the player to leave if they believe that this puts pressure on me to make it easier for him to leave,” he continued.
“The club’s interests come first for everyone. whatever they are.
Regarding his future, what has Viktor Gyokeres stated?
“It’s football, you never know,” the attacker told France Football in an unexpected interview. I’m not considering it; we’ll see what occurs.
“Anything that is meant to happen will happen. Playing for a team that truly wants me is what matters most to me.
