Fans were treated to a rather entertaining race between Jamie Carragher and iShowSpeed on Wednesday evening, when CBS Sports was broadcasting coverage of the Champions League. The results of the race left the fans in a state of shock.
During his playing career with Liverpool, Carragher, who is now 47 years old, was not known for his speed; however, he certainly surprised fans on Wednesday night through his performance.
One of the most well-known internet personalities, Speed, whose real name is Darren Watkins Jr., recently began a romantic relationship with Thierry Henry. This relationship began when the two of them participated in the “Match for Hope” event that took place in Doha, Qatar, a month ago.
Before taking part in a race at the CBS studio, the two individuals went back and forth between the two locations.
In the moments leading up to the race, Speed made the statement, “You’re not beating me; stop saying you’re beating me.”
“I have no idea where you are getting these various ideas that are going through your head. What makes you believe that you will be able to defeat someone who goes by the name IShowSpeed?
It was the fastest person in the world, Noah Lyles, who I competed against. This was a very close race.”
“My strategy is to simply remain calm and run the race,” Carragher joked. “I’m going to run the race.” “The guy should not be so anxious.”
Speed, who was 20 years old at the time, crossed the finish line ahead of Carragher. The former Liverpool defender got off to a quick start and attempted to obstruct Speed’s path before Speed crossed the finish line.
A man named Speed exclaimed, “You pushed me!” “Despite your dishonesty, you could not win.”
Carragher made a joke about it, saying, “I’m disappointed, I thought I had him.”
It was an excessively long race. I got off to a really strong finish.
“Listen, I have been a cheater throughout my entire life. At this point, it is not going to stop.”
Fans on social media were impressed by Carragher’s speed despite the fact that he did not win the 40-meter dash. This is especially true when considering the fact that Carragher is 27 years older than the internet sensation.
Someone said, “It’s typical of Jamie Carragher to cheat, but I really enjoyed watching him lose.”
An additional person stated, “I actually thought Carragher had it.”

After their antics on Wednesday evening, it is safe to say that Carragher will definitely know who Speed is. In the past, it appeared as though Carragher was unaware of who Speed was, and he asked Henry, “Who is he?” during a CBS show in February. However, it is safe to say that Carragher is now aware of who Speed is.
