Speed finally came face-to-face with Lionel Messi at Club World Cup and what happened next sums it up

The YouTube celebrity finally got within touching distance of Lionel Messi.

IShowSpeed finally had the opportunity to meet one of the best footballers of all time, Lionel Messi, at the Club World Cup.

The YouTube phenomenon, who has over 40 million subscribers, is renowned as one of the world’s biggest Cristiano Ronaldo admirers.

Speed routinely refers to the former Real Madrid player as the greatest to have ever played the game, and he will celebrate with his famed ‘Siu’ at any opportunity.

The teenager went so far as to boo Messi when he got the opportunity to watch Inter Miami play Al Nassr, a game that Ronaldo was unable to attend.

Speed finally had the chance to confront the Argentinean as the Club World Cup began with a 0-0 tie between Inter Miami and Al Ahly, but he did not expect the reaction he received.

Speed was waiting in the tunnel after the game as Messi and Luis Suarez slapped hands with Pepe, an ex-La Liga adversary, before seeing who he was with.

But, after attempting to grab his attention, Messi simply blanked him and returned to the changing room.

“Was that just Messi?” he asked his live-stream audience. “Bro. No way, I just missed Messi. Ain’t no way.

“That couldn’t have been him. You are lying. “It was not him.”

After seeing the clip from the incident, Speed recognized how close he came to meeting the football icon, with his fans claiming he was’scared’ considering his tribal devotion for Ronaldo.

He said on his live, “I was just dumb close to Messi. He walked straight passed me! I did not freeze! “Thank God I wasn’t scared chat.”

Speed proceeded to watch the tape before being joined by Sergio Aguero, who sought to persuade the ex-Man City player to schedule another meeting with his old teammate.

When asked if he could assist a ‘link up’, Aguero responded, “You are a big fan of Cristiano, right?”

The ex-Barcelona player couldn’t help making a cheeky joke at the Al Nassr star, asking Speed whether he was playing in the event and added that he was probably watching from home.

Messi’s Miami team can thank goalie Oscar Ustari for keeping them in the game during the tournament’s first game, producing a run of saves, including one from the penalty spot.

Messi came close to breaking the deadlock for the MLS squad, but he was unable to lead them to win in what was likely their easiest group match.

Their next game is against Porto on Thursday, followed by a match against Palmeiras of Brazil.
