Sky Sports reporter drops ‘surprise’ Trent Alexander-Arnold transfer update as Real Madrid move edges closer

The reporter for Sky Sports, Melissa Reddy, has provided an update on the future of Trent Alexander-Arnold, a star player for Liverpool, in light of the fact that Real Madrid is showing interest in him.

As reported by talkSPORT, Alexander-Arnold has made the decision to sign with Real Madrid during the summer of 2019.

On the other hand, it has been asserted in other places that Liverpool is not aware of such a decision, despite the fact that Alexander-Arnold is still under contract with them for an additional three months.

As things currently stand, Real Madrid has the ability to negotiate a pre-contract agreement with the right-back right now. If the agreement is signed, it would then go into effect on July 1st.

In order for Real to acquire his services in time for the Club World Cup, which requires squads to be submitted by the 10th of June, the club would be required to pay a fee to Liverpool in order to acquire his services.

As of right now, Sky Sports reporter Reddy has disclosed that both Liverpool and Real have’shown surprise’ at the stories that have emerged this week. This is despite the fact that there have been no significant developments in the investigation since January.

There were rumours going around at the time that Real had made an offer to acquire Alexander-Arnold for a sum of approximately twenty million pounds. It was reported that Liverpool had declined the offer because they desired for the 26-year-old player to finish the season with them. However, they continued to look forward to the possibility that he would sign new terms.

According to what Reddy has written, “no deal has been signed, nor has a conclusion been communicated to either club.”

In light of this, it would appear that the Alexander-Arnold contract saga will continue for some time to come. This is in addition to the situations involving Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk, both of whom are also out of contract this summer.

After their team eliminated Liverpool from the Champions League at Anfield earlier this week, Van Dijk was seen in the tunnel talking to the sporting director of Paris Saint-Germain, Luis Campos, and the president of the French club, Nasser Al-Khelaifi. Reports have suggested that Van Dijk may be interested in joining Paris Saint-Germain.

There has been no public statement made by either Salah, who is currently the leading goalscorer in the Premier League for this season, or Van Dijk, who is the captain of the club, regarding whether or not they intend to continue playing at Anfield.
